The meaning of "no self-nature" is: Above, it was said that all dharmas are without self-nature. To dispel the thought that since all dharmas are without self-nature, there might be a separate self-nature existing apart from the dharmas, the term "self-nature" is merely a conventional expression. In ultimate truth, even self-nature is without self-nature. The meaning of "the self-nature of self-nature is also without self-nature" is: Although it was said above that self-nature is without self-nature, to dispel the thought that since self-nature is without self-nature, there might be something called "the self-nature of self-nature" existing separately, this was said. The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva studies this teaching, will he attain all-knowingness?" Up to the point of saying: "He will attain all-knowingness." This shows the benefit of realizing that all dharmas are without self-nature. That is, if one truly understands in this way and studies the teaching of realizing that all dharmas are without self-nature, then that Bodhisattva will attain all-knowingness. This means that he will attain the state of all-knowingness. Why is that? Shariputra, it is because all dharmas are unborn and unarisen. Up to the point of saying: "Shariputra, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom in this way, then he is close to all-knowingness." This shows why it is called the Perfection of Wisdom, which is to be truly examined. It is because all dharmas are unborn and unarisen. This is to connect with the previous meaning, so it is said that studying this teaching will lead to all-knowingness, which is merely a conventional expression. In ultimate truth, all dharmas are unborn and unarisen, and all-knowingness is also unborn and unarisen, so it is taught that it will arise in a way that is unborn. The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, how is dharma...

The so-called "all unborn and unmanifested" refers to: Asking how all dharmas such as form are unborn during universal afflictions, and how they do not manifest as omniscience during complete purification. Subhuti replied: Venerable Sharadvatiputra, form is empty of form's nature. Therefore, birth is not perceived in it, nor is arising perceived. This means that, in terms of ultimate truth, form is empty of its own nature. For that which is empty of its own nature, there is no birth during universal afflictions, nor does it manifest as omniscience during complete purification. If all dharmas had substance, then there would also be the possibility of manifesting as omniscience. So, why is it called Prajnaparamita? If it can be called Prajnaparamita because it enables manifestation as omniscience, that may be acceptable. But since it neither arises nor manifests as omniscience, why should this not be called Prajnaparamita? This is what is to be expressed. Similarly, from feeling, etc., up to the limit of Suchness, for all dharmas of the world and beyond the world, this should also be applied. Venerable Sharadvatiputra, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who thus practices Prajnaparamita is close to omniscience. This is a summary and explanation of the question, "Why is it called Prajnaparamita?" Although in terms of ultimate truth, it should not be called Prajnaparamita, nevertheless, if one realizes this meaning in this way, then in conventional truth, one is close to omniscience. As one approaches omniscience in this way, so too, the body becomes completely purified, the speech becomes completely purified, and so on. This explains the benefits of realizing the emptiness of all dharmas and approaching omniscience. The Extensive Explanation of the Hundred Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita, Chapter Five, is complete. Chapter Five, the Chapter on Wandering and Skillful Means.
