Third, the chapter on omniscience. Third, the chapter on omniscience. After understanding the path, in order to easily understand or elaborate on these, omniscience itself should be declared. That is eight things, as stated in the treatise: Wisdom does not abide in existence, compassion does not abide in peace, it is far because it is not everything, it is not far because of skillful means. The aspects of incompatible antidotes, union and its equality, the path seen by hearers and so on, all such are considered omniscience. The extensive explanation of this is: This shore, the other shore, are not at the edge, they do not abide in between them, because they know that all times are equal, it is called Prajnaparamita. That is to say, Prajnaparamita is omniscience itself. This shore is samsara, the other shore is nirvana. The middle does not abide in the center either, meaning that all three are unattainable. Because wisdom and compassion truly know, they are free from attachment to samsara and nirvana and both, so they do not abide anywhere. In the nature of reality, the three times are equal, and because the nature of all dharmas is unattainable. As it is said, it is the venerable one and so on, after that is commonly declared, here it is the special nature, or it does not abide anywhere, away from its nature, not following behind, those who are not harmed by the three unattainables. Because of extreme purity, it is said that it is not truly existent, so all dharmas are always extremely pure. The hearers only seek to abandon the ignorance of afflictions, only seeking the cessation of their own suffering, completely weary of samsara, contemplating nirvana, extremely desiring it, and because of diligence, they quickly and completely enter nirvana. Bodhisattvas are not like that, because they desire unsurpassed enlightenment for the sake of all sentient beings, they do not abide in samsara and nirvana. As it is said in the treatise: Because of the object with its characteristics, it is far because it is not skillful means. That is, by clinging to characteristics, it becomes non-skillful means. This also refers to names and characteristics...

Will accumulate, and emptiness is by name. Saying will be far away, is far away by characteristics. It is said in the scripture: That is by skillful means, is said to be truly present. This is to say, entering without attachment, for those who are skillful in means, attachment and clinging, as well as truth and the nature of the other, are fabricated. What is said about this is, thus and thus, and so on. Well said, is in the path of seeing with sixteen moments. Well shown, is with twelve branches. Reaching the extreme, is not dwelling in samsara and nirvana. Utterly pure, is completely abandoning the extremes of attachment. Wherever, how much purity, are ornaments of words. Wonderful is for names. Skillful in the method of abandoning attachment, this is to say will be close. Moreover, attachment should be generally stated first, and then explained separately. Here it is said in the scripture: Form and other aggregates are emptiness, the dharmas realized in the three times, generosity and other aspects of enlightenment, the thought of practice is the opposite side. This is to say, form and so on are for dharmas, aggregates are accumulation. The thought of practice, the opposite side that is done by name or characteristics, that is the opposite side, meaning having attachment. What is said about this is, from then on and so on. In the mother tantra, generosity and other perfections and the aspects of enlightenment should be practiced, to fully know this is attachment. What is said is obtained in order to approximately represent it here. What is said about the remaining attachment is like this arising and so on. By what name, this special path is the first bodhicitta, this is to say initially attached by realization. Should be completely dedicated to enlightenment, this is to say completely dedicating after distinguishing and contemplating is the second. The attachment here, because it is without self-nature in the ultimate sense, and for the non-discriminating mind, therefore what is said is cannot, this is to say the mind's self-nature is without self-nature, what is said about attachment is said for the meaning of abandoning those attachments. Here it is said in the scripture: Generosity and so on
