Seeing the characteristics of the earth elsewhere, thereby purifying the vessel world of the realm of the Pratyekabuddha, so that it becomes as even as the palm of the hand. Then, from "The venerable Subhuti" onwards, everything that was said up to "has been joined to perfect and complete enlightenment." That is the unsurpassed pure land. Having made skillful means the master, this is its object and union. Transcending enemies, non-abiding suchness, force, uncommon characteristics, non-attachment and non-objectification, sign, aspiration exhaustion, its signs and immeasurable, skillful means ten kinds. Thus it is said. This "this" refers to skillful means. The object is the three samadhis and the aspects of enlightenment first spoken of in the sutra. After that, the union that has that as its object is that which also meditates on emptiness and so forth, but does not make it manifest. Transcending enemies and so forth should be divided into ten unions, because they are related to the word "union." Therefore, these are the ten kinds of skillful means. Among them, the object is what is spoken from "Then, the venerable Subhuti" and so forth, up to "one should meditate on the unmixed." The union is what is spoken from "The Blessed One declared" and so forth, up to "one does not make manifest the fruit of the Pratyekabuddha." The enemies are the obstructing dharmas, and the union that overcomes and transcends them with the four immeasurables is what is spoken from "Subhuti, for example" and so forth, up to "one also does not make such an abiding manifest." Whatever union one practices emptiness and so forth with, one also does not abide there like a bird in the sky, what is spoken from "Subhuti, for example" up to "obtains." One also does not make manifest the ultimate limit before the Buddha's dharmas are fully ripened, because of the vast aspiration, one does not make it manifest, this is the union of force as it is, Subhuti, for example

From "e" onwards, everything that was said up to "one should thus completely examine." The uncommon practice of the Hearers and so forth is not abandoning all sentient beings. Asked: Everything that was said from "Bhagavan" onwards, up to "does not manifestly realize the true limit." Grasping at "I" and "mine" is attachment. In order to enable beings who engage in this to abandon it, I should manifest complete perfect enlightenment and then teach the Dharma; this is the practice of non-attachment. Everything that was said from "Subhuti, furthermore" and so forth, up to "is not like a solitary buddha." After I have manifested complete perfect enlightenment, I should thus liberate sentient beings from the fault of engaging in clinging to my Dharma. This is the practice of non-clinging. Everything that was said from "Subhuti, furthermore" and so forth, up to "will be completely perfected." After I have manifested complete perfect enlightenment, I should thus liberate sentient beings from the fault of engaging in signs. This is the practice of signlessness. Everything that was said from "Subhuti, furthermore" and so forth, up to "will be completely perfected." After I have manifested complete perfect enlightenment, I should thus liberate sentient beings from the fault of engaging in aspirations. This is the practice of non-aspiration. Everything that was said from "Subhuti, furthermore" and so forth, up to "that is not a place." "That" refers to being conjoined with non-retrogression. Because it symbolizes and makes known, it is the practice of the sign of that. Emptiness and so forth should also be kept in mind, and one should not abandon all sentient beings; this in between is the answer to the question. Everything that was said from "Subhuti, furthermore" and so forth, up to "is not pressing down on weakened ground." Asked: "Bhagavan" and so forth. Here, Bodhisattva Mahasattva means the generation of the mind of enlightenment. Is there such a category that becomes non-retrogressing? This is the question.

From "Thus said the Blessed One," etc., to "not stolen by the world," is the answer. The answer to the question of how few are those who do not turn back from the very many who generate the mind of enlightenment should be understood as before. The combination of the very few of those very few is immeasurable because they are those small quantities themselves. It is like saying, "A daughter with a small belly is not without a belly." This is the completion of the commentary on the Ornament for Clear Realization, composed by Ratnakara Shanti, the fourth chapter, the chapter on the complete realization of all aspects. Chapter Four: Commentary on the Complete Realization of All Aspects.
