Chapter Four: Explanation of All Aspects of Manifest Realization. Chapter Four: Explanation of All Aspects of Manifest Realization. Now, since the explanation of what is called the realization of all aspects is to be given, the specific wisdom of the basis is, "What is called 'aspect' is the characteristic." Thus it is said, the basis is the object of focus, such as the four truths. The specific wisdom of that, by which aspects one is to fully know it, those are called aspects. Characteristic is the name. Because all-knowing ones have three aspects, it is also considered to have three aspects. In this regard, "all-knowing ones" is a term for many kinds, meaning for the all-knowing itself. There, taking the all-knowing itself as the authority, starting from the aspect of non-existence, up to the aspect of immovability, each truth has four, and for the path, it is explained as fifteen. Thus it is said, this is the perfection of non-existence, starting from the aspect of non-existence, and this is the perfection of immovability, up to the aspect of immovability, there are twenty-seven. Among them, suffering, origin, and cessation each have four, and the truth of the path has the remaining fifteen. The perfection of the aspect of non-existence is the perfection of the aspect of non-existence. Similarly, for all the following as well. Among them, the basis of suffering is non-existence, equality, serenity, and unobtainability. Non-existence is like form, etc., like space. Equality is because all phenomena such as form, etc., have no object of focus, hence it is equality. Serenity is because of the utter emptiness. Unobtainability is because all phenomena have no object of focus. The basis of origin is no place, space, unspeakable, and nameless. No place is because the five aggregates such as form, etc., do not exist. Space is because form, etc., have no exhaling and inhaling. Unspeakable is because conceptualization and analysis have no object of focus. Nameless is because form and feeling, etc., are not focused upon. The four of cessation are no going, ungraspable, and un-

They are exhaustion and non-arising. The non-movement of cessation is because all dharmas have no movement, and because it is naturally completely liberated. The non-grasping of cessation is because all dharmas are non-grasping, and there is no grasping of the dharma of dharmas. Non-exhaustion is because all dharmas are utterly exhausted and purified, it is utter non-exhaustion and non-cessation. Non-arising is because all dharmas are non-arising and non-cessation. The fifteen aspects of the path are: no agent, no knower, no transference, no destruction, dream, echo, mirage, mirage, illusion, no complete defilement, no complete purification, no attachment, no elaboration, no pride, and no movement. The path is without an agent, because an agent is not found. There is no knower, because a knower is not found. There is no transference, because birth and death are not found. There is no destruction, because all dharmas are by nature without destruction, and nature is suchness. Dream is because the dream vision is not found. Echo is because verbal expression is not found. Mirage is because form and form-image are not found. Mirage is because a mass of water is not found. Illusion is because its cause is not found. No complete defilement is because the nature of affliction is not found. No complete purification is because a completely defiled sentient being is not found. No attachment is like the sky. No elaboration is because all elaborations are completely destroyed. No pride is because all prideful thoughts are completely destroyed. No movement is because it abides in the realm of dharma. This is called the aspect of all-knowingness. Empowered by the wisdom of knowing the path, it is proclaimed that the cause, the path, suffering, and cessation are, in order, eight words, seven words, five words, and sixteen words. Thus it is said, the cause is accumulation.

Yung ngo. Therefore, the reason why origin and path are mentioned first here is because they become the means to the result. Suffering and cessation are because they become the result. Regarding their aspects, the sutra says they are eight, seven, five, and sixteen respectively. Among them, the eight of origin are: detachment from desire, non-abiding, peace, absence of desire, absence of hatred, absence of delusion, absence of affliction, and absence of sentient beings. Detachment from desire is because the causes of desire, such as form, are not observed, and the cause of desire is attachment. Abiding is attachment and craving, and because these are absent, non-abiding is because all phenomena such as form are without an object of focus. Peace is because all phenomena such as form are manifestly and completely awakened into the suchness that is not inverted. Absence of desire is because of the absence of desire. Absence of hatred is because of the absence of fault. Absence of delusion is because of the destruction of darkness. Absence of affliction is because of the absence of complete conceptualization. Absence of sentient beings is because there is no object of focus for sentient beings. The truth of the path is immeasurable, unrelated to the two extremes, non-different, without clinging, non-conceptual, incalculable, and without attachment. Immeasurable is because there is no arising from all phenomena. Unrelated to the two extremes is because there is no object of focus for the two extremes. Non-different is because all phenomena are without distinction and are solitary. Without clinging is because the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas have completely transcended karma. Non-conceptual is because there is no object of focus for conceptualization. Incalculable is because the measure of all phenomena is without an object of focus. Without attachment is because all phenomena are equal to the nature of space. The five of suffering are: impermanence, suffering, emptiness, selflessness, and absence of characteristics. Impermanence is because all phenomena such as form are without destruction, and that which is without destruction
