Having black hair, having thick hair, having smooth hair, having hair that does not tangle, having hair that does not fall out, having fragrant hair, having auspicious patterns on the palms and soles of the feet, and being adorned with auspicious and swastika symbols, these are called the seven. These combined are the eighty minor marks of a Buddha. As long as existence lasts, that body which simultaneously performs various benefits for beings is an emanation of Shakyamuni Buddha, never ceasing. Thus, his activity in samsara is considered to be continuous. Among these, "as long as existence lasts" means as long as samsara exists and as long as space exists. Thus, after explaining the Dharmakaya, which has the nature of the three kayas, in order to explain his actions, it is unreasonable to distinguish between good and non-good, etc., for all phenomena that appear as non-substantial, so it is thought that this is not permissible, this is Subhuti's question, and the Blessed One's answer. So, how many kinds of his actions are there? Therefore it is said: The work of pacifying beings, placing them in the four means of gathering, and completely purifying all defilements, truly understanding the meaning of beings, and the six perfections, the Buddha's path and self-nature emptiness, the cessation of two extremes, without signs and without objects, completely maturing sentient beings, the bodhisattva path and dispelling clinging to reality, attaining enlightenment, the pure and definite Buddha-field, the immeasurable meaning of sentient beings, the qualities of the Buddha's teachings, etc., the activities of the limbs of enlightenment, not wasting and seeing the truth, abandoning perversion, and the way of non-existence, complete purification and accumulation, for conditioned and unconditioned, completely not knowing the difference, and placing them in nirvana, this is the altruistic activity of the Dharmakaya, which is considered to be twenty-seven kinds. Thus it is said, the word "placing at the end" should be connected to all the middle words. From here, these three words mean that the beings of hell, hungry ghosts, and animals are all completely pacified, that is, abandoning.
