Commentary on Chapter Four. Commentary on Chapter Four. In order to be able to fully understand the three omniscient ones, the objects, paths, and aspects are summarized. Therefore, it is said that one should meditate on the three aspects of the omniscient ones, thereby proclaiming the complete manifestation of all aspects of enlightenment. The verse states: "The aspect of the basis and wisdom, the aspect is called the nature. Since omniscience is of three aspects, it is also considered to be of three aspects." That is to say, the basis refers to the four truths, etc., which are the objects of imputation as phenomena. Among them, what is the aspect of wisdom? It is the various distinctions of impermanence and other dharmas that transform into the activity of wisdom and become the basis for realization. Those aspects are the nature, that is, the characteristics. Since the omniscient ones are of three aspects, their aspects are also of three kinds. Among them, the aspects of understanding all knowledge are proclaimed. The verse states: "Starting from the aspect of non-existence, up to the aspect of immovability, each truth has four, and the path is said to have fifteen." That is to say, starting from the aspect of non-existence, up to reaching the other shore of immovability, there are twenty-seven aspects in total. The truths of suffering, origin, and cessation each have four. The remaining fifteen are the truth of the path. Among them, suffering has four aspects: non-existence, equality, tranquility, and non-fabrication. Origin has four aspects: no place, no space, unspeakable, and no arrogance. Cessation has four aspects: no coming, no comparison, no exhaustion, and no birth. The path has fifteen aspects: no agent, no knower, no transfer, no decay, like a dream, like an image, like a mirage, like an illusion, no affliction, no purification, completely unpolluted, no pride, no movement, like a dream. In general, there are twenty-seven, which are the aspects of all knowledge. From the perspective of path knowledge, the verse states: "Cause, path, and suffering, and cessation, respectively, are called eight, seven, five, and sixteen." That is to say,

The cause is the origin. Here, the origin is first taught because it becomes the means to the result. Suffering and cessation are taught later because they become the result. Their aspects, as the order is, are said in the sutra to be eight, seven, five, and sixteen. Among them, the origin has eight aspects: non-attachment, no dwelling, peace, no desire, no hatred, no delusion, no affliction, and no truth. The path has seven aspects: immeasurable, not following the two extremes, no separateness, not dependent on others, no discrimination, immeasurable, and no opportunity. Suffering has five aspects: impermanence, suffering, emptiness, selflessness, and no characteristics. Cessation has sixteen aspects: inner emptiness, outer emptiness, inner-outer emptiness, emptiness of emptiness, great emptiness, ultimate emptiness, conditioned emptiness, unconditioned emptiness, emptiness beyond extremes, emptiness without beginning or end, emptiness without abandonment, emptiness of nature, emptiness of all dharmas, emptiness of self-characteristic, emptiness of non-apprehension, and emptiness of the nature of non-things. In general, there are thirty-six aspects. The aspects of realizing all aspects are taught. With the distinction of the three omniscient ones, in accordance with the truth of the path, starting from mindfulness, the final aspect of becoming a Buddha, for the Shravakas, Bodhisattvas, and Buddhas, respectively, are thirty-seven, thirty-four, and thirty-nine. That is to say, all the noble individuals are completely gathered, which is all-aspect knowledge, the number of paths completely gathered by the three all-knowing ones, as their order, Shravakas have thirty-seven, Bodhisattvas have thirty-four, and Buddhas have thirty-nine. Among them, body mindfulness

, the mindfulness of feeling, the mindfulness of mind, and the mindfulness of phenomena, these are the four mindfulnesses. Abandoning sinful and unwholesome dharmas that have arisen, not generating unwholesome dharmas that have not arisen, generating wholesome dharmas that have not arisen, and increasing wholesome dharmas that have arisen, these are the four right abandonments. Samadhi of aspiration, samadhi of diligence, samadhi of mind, and samadhi of investigation, these are the four legs of miraculous power. The power of faith, the power of diligence, the power of mindfulness, the power of samadhi, and the power of wisdom, these are the five powers. Because these are not overcome by opposing factors, they are the five strengths: the strength of faith, the strength of diligence, the strength of mindfulness, the strength of samadhi, and the strength of wisdom. Mindfulness as a branch of perfect enlightenment, discrimination of dharmas as a branch of perfect enlightenment, diligence as a branch of perfect enlightenment, joy as a branch of perfect enlightenment, pliancy as a branch of perfect enlightenment, samadhi as a branch of perfect enlightenment, and equanimity as a branch of perfect enlightenment, these are called the seven branches of enlightenment. Right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right samadhi, these are called the eightfold noble path. These are the thirty-seven aspects of realization of omniscience, which are for the disciples. Emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness are the three doors of liberation. Seeing forms as forms is the first liberation. Having internal perception of form and seeing external forms is the second liberation. Abiding in the liberation of ugliness, having realized it with the body, is the third liberation. Here, "with the body" should be understood as "with wisdom." The sphere of infinite space, the sphere of infinite consciousness, and
