That. Because the nature of self and common characteristics is different, it is said to be extremely pure. Having spoken of purity in general, now speak of the distinctions. The afflictions, knowable, and three paths, due to their harm, the purity of the Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Bodhisattvas, the Buddhas are all extremely pure. Thus it is said, the afflictions such as desire, and the discriminations of the meaning included in one aspect of that and the obscurations of knowledge, and because the three obscurations of the path of the three vehicles are removed, the purity of the Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Bodhisattvas in order. Because all kinds of afflictions and obscurations of knowledge, together with their predispositions, are removed, the extremely pure nature arising from the Dharmadhatu is what is accepted as the unsurpassed Buddha. At the time of the wisdom of the path, in the course of speaking of purity, the order of purity of the Buddha and Hearers, etc., how is it that the extremely pure and the one-sided are spoken of? On the nine grounds, of the great, of the great and so on, of the impurities, the antidote of the small, of the small, and so on, the path is pure. Thus it is said, the desire realm, and the meditative concentration, and the formless attainments, on the nine grounds, the nature of the antidote of the nine kinds of great and so on of the opposing side, in order, all kinds of the nine kinds of small and so on, and because it is the cause of one-sided purity, it is said to be extremely pure and one-sided. How is it extremely pure? Because the dispute is removed there, the path is measurable and the object of measurement is pure, because of equality, of the three realms, the nature of the antidote is accepted as such. Thus it is said, there the antidote is the great of the great and so on, the opposing side is the small of the small and so on, the dispute that should be reasoned thus, like removing the subtle stains attached to clothing, the analogy of the washerman striving in the great hot water, the path of cultivation is extremely pure as it is shown through the door of removal. The consciousness and objects of knowledge of the three realms are pure, the equality that is without an object of focus, that is the nature of the antidote of all of them. Buddha
