Detailed Explanation of the Limbs. Detailed Explanation of the Limbs. Commentary on the First Chapter. Having thus shown all the meanings that have been summarized, since the Bodhisattva desires to attain enlightenment and it is the fruit, it is necessary to attain omniscience. Therefore, first, it is intended to explain omniscience itself through the gate of explaining the compiled verses. The arising of the mind, along with its own nature and object. The arising of the mind is for the sake of others. One desires perfect and complete enlightenment. It is said that after becoming a Buddha, one should strive for the benefit of others according to their capacity. Thus, the arising of the mind, with the characteristic of desiring perfect and complete enlightenment for the benefit of others, is the nature of both aspiration and engagement. The desire for perfect and complete enlightenment is to strive for that purpose, which is the aspiration for virtuous Dharma arising from the mind. Is not the arising of the mind a manifestation of a particularly excellent object of mind? If so, how does it become the arising of the mind? Although it is true, here, if there is striving for the characteristic of aspiration for virtuous Dharma, then the arising of the mind of enlightenment is showing the fruit through the cause. Thus, all the virtuous Dharmas of the Bodhisattva who strives for meaning will increase. It is without fault because it relies on what is closely connected in order to be known. In one aspect, aspiration is striving for meaning, which is the desire for perfect and complete enlightenment. The arising of the mind that acts simultaneously with it is shown as its expression. Thus, it should be known that Bodhisattvas give rise to that mind endowed with aspiration for that purpose. Furthermore, what is the nature of what is desired? And for whose sake is the mind generated? What is perfect and complete enlightenment? What is the benefit of others? That and that are spoken of as in the Sutra, through the gate of brevity and elaboration. It is said that from the mother of all Buddhas in the three times, one should also know the Prajnaparamita and all things such as generosity, that one should give, and that one should accomplish the meaning of non-objectification of the giver and receiver, etc. One should know that it has this meaning. All sentient beings, according to their capacity.

Entering into tranquility as per one's view, and those who are miserly, etc., wishing to rejoice in generosity, etc., therefore, one should cultivate this Prajnaparamita, etc., with words that strive to proclaim extensively, without contradicting the meaning of the sutras, through the gates of brevity and extensiveness, revealing perfect complete enlightenment and the benefit of others. Thus, the generation of the mind is for the sake of others, desiring the nature of perfect complete enlightenment, one should know it as such. The scriptures diligently reveal the essential meaning at the appropriate time, although it is said in all of them, fearing lengthy words, the source is not fully written here. Thus, the object and nature of the generation of the mind have been described. Now, the twenty-two distinctions thereof are described, with the verses in between: That time is vast, gold, moon, fire, treasure and jewel source, ocean, vajra, mountain, medicine, virtuous friend, wish-fulfilling jewel, sun, song, king, treasury, great road, vehicle, adorned water, musical instrument, river, and clouds, are the twenty-two aspects. Thus it is said. Namely, aspiration, thought, superior intention, application, generosity, discipline, patience, diligence, meditation, wisdom, skillful means, prayer, power, Prajnaparamita, clairvoyance, merit, wisdom, the Dharma that accords with the aspects of enlightenment, compassion and insight, form, fearlessness, joy of Dharma, the one vehicle path, possessing the Dharmakaya, in order are season, excellent gold, new moon, fire, great treasure, source of jewels, great ocean, vajra, king of mountains, medicine, virtuous friend, wish-fulfilling jewel, sun, beautiful Dharma song, great king, treasury, great highway, vehicle, adorned water, musical instrument, river, cloud, thus, it is the basis of all white Dharma, and does not change until enlightenment, excellent
