Chapter Seven: Explaining Complete Enlightenment in a Single Moment Chapter Seven: Explaining Complete Enlightenment in a Single Moment The gradual realization is because those (gradual realizations) have been extremely practiced, and those (gradual realizations) are realized in a single moment. Therefore, the meaning of complete enlightenment in a single moment is that because all dharmas are not confused, one should know the Prajñāpāramitā accordingly, as it is said. Because in complete enlightenment in a single moment, it is not possible to make confusion and otherness, and because of non-confusion, all dharmas such as form are not confused, therefore one should know the Prajñāpāramitā accordingly, which is the meaning of the limb. The general meaning should also be explained. Complete enlightenment in a single moment has four characteristics, so for the time being, first: "One thing is the nature of all things, In what one sees the suchness of one thing, That is, all things see suchness." In this way, not only is it one gathering many, but also, contemplating the wisdom of generosity, etc., the single moment of the object, contrary to the inversion of grasping things separately, with the nature of non-outflow generosity, etc., up to the characteristics of the eighty minor marks, because it is realized by the Bodhisattva, all non-resultant non-outflow dharmas, the characteristic of a single moment, the non-single moment of complete enlightenment is the first. As it is said: "Generosity and so on, each one, Also gathers all non-outflow dharmas, This realization is of the Victorious One, The single moment is as it is said." Thus it is said. Furthermore, how does contemplating one non-outflow wisdom gather all non-outflow dharmas? This should be explained. For example, if a person creates by a single method of treading, due to the power of the skillful craftsman's exquisite craftsmanship, all the spinning wheels turn simultaneously. Similarly, due to the force of the previous aspiration and the realm of dharma,

By the power of that, in just one moment, if one focuses on the uncontaminated wisdom, then by the power of the connection between cause and effect, all similar things can be manifested. As it is said: Just as a man uses a rope to connect buckets, and when he moves one end, all of them shake at once, so is the wisdom of one moment. So it is said. What is its essence? When a Bodhisattva cultivates antidotes, eliminates all unfavorable aspects, and the state of the Dharma-nature of the purified aspects matures, free from all impurities, and when all white qualities arise like the light of the autumn moon, at that time, in just one moment, one attains the state of maturity, and knowing all Dharmas, that is Prajnaparamita. Thus, in the state of the Dharma-nature of maturity, the characteristic of realizing all uncontaminated Dharmas in one moment is the second manifestation of enlightenment. As it is said: When the nature of all white Dharmas, Prajnaparamita, arises in the state of the Dharma-nature of maturity, at that time, it is the wisdom of one moment. So it is said. After that, having previously accustomed oneself to all Dharmas being like dreams, having experienced the two accumulations, and in the state of realization, taking all Dharmas such as the five aggregates as dreams, practicing the six Paramitas such as giving, from the nature of giving and so on, in a way that one certainly realizes, in just one moment, knowing that all Dharmas are without characteristics, that is, knowing that all defiled and purified Dharmas are without characteristics. Thus, the complete enlightenment in one moment of all Dharmas being without characteristics is the third. As it is said: By the practice of giving and so on, abiding in all Dharmas as if in a dream, in one moment, one realizes that all Dharmas are without characteristics. So it is said. After that, for a long time, having become accustomed to abandoning the appearance of duality without interruption, when a Bodhisattva who has uprooted the habitual tendencies of the appearance of duality, in the way of the grasped and the grasper,
