The Bodhisattva Mahasattva will realize the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, with skillful means, even though practicing the Perfection of Giving, he does not fixate on the giver or the receiver of the giving. If he does not practice apart from these dharmas, then the Bodhisattva Mahasattva will attain the path to enlightenment. Subhuti, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom in this way, with skillful means, he will realize the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, even though practicing the Perfection of Ethics, he does not fixate on ethics or those who possess ethics. If he does not practice apart from these two dharmas, then the Bodhisattva Mahasattva will attain the path to enlightenment. Subhuti, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom in this way, with skillful means, he will realize the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, even though practicing the Perfection of Patience, he does not fixate on patience or those who possess patience. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, even though practicing the Perfection of Diligence, he does not fixate on diligence or those who initiate diligence. If he does not fixate apart from these two dharmas, then the Bodhisattva Mahasattva will attain the path to enlightenment. Subhuti,

When a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thus practices the Perfection of Wisdom, through skillful means he manifestly and completely awakens to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, even though he practices the Perfection of Dhyana, he does not fixate on Dhyana or the practitioner of Dhyana. If he does not practice outside of these two dharmas, then the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva will obtain the path to enlightenment. Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thus practices the Perfection of Wisdom, through skillful means he manifestly and completely awakens to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, even though he cultivates the Perfection of Wisdom, he does not fixate on Wisdom or those endowed with Wisdom. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, even though he practices up to the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, he does not fixate on the unshared qualities of the Buddha or the cultivation of the unshared qualities of the Buddha. Then, the venerable Shariputra said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, how does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, when practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, diligently cultivate the path to enlightenment?" The Blessed One said:

Tsalpa: Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he does not combine or separate forms with skillful means. Why is that? Because, in this way, whatever is combined or separated, form is without intrinsic nature. Feelings, perceptions, formations, and consciousness are also not combined or separated. Why is that? Because, in this way, whatever is combined or separated, consciousness is without intrinsic nature. The twelve sense bases, the eighteen elements, and the twelve links of dependent origination are also not combined or separated. Why is that? Because, in this way, whatever is combined or separated, the twelve links of dependent origination are without intrinsic nature. The perfections, all emptinesses, and the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment are also not combined or separated. Why is that? Because, in this way, whatever is combined or separated, the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment are without intrinsic nature. The noble truths, meditative stabilizations, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the liberations, the gradually abiding stabilizations, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, clairvoyance, samadhi, and the doors of dharani are also not combined or separated. Why is that? Because, in this way, whatever is combined or separated, the doors of dharani are without intrinsic nature. The ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, great love, great compassion, and the unshared dharmas of the Buddha are also not combined or separated. Why is that? Because, in this way, whatever is combined or separated, the unshared dharmas of the Buddha are without intrinsic nature. Tsalpa: Blessed One, if there is no intrinsic nature in any dharma to be combined or separated, then how can the Perfection of Wisdom, which Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas should train in, be realized? If the Perfection of Wisdom is not trained in, how can Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas realize unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment?
