The path of meditation that is exceedingly pure. The path of meditation that is exceedingly pure. Then, the venerable Śāriputra said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is that which illuminates. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is worthy of being revered; Blessed One, I pay homage to the Perfection of Wisdom. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is that which is unstained by all three realms. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is that which, in order to abandon all afflictions and the darkness of views, illuminates without confusion. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is the most excellent among the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is that which brings happiness in order to completely abandon all fear, harm, and injury. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is that which illuminates in order to fully attain the five eyes of all sentient beings. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is that which shows the path in order to turn back sentient beings who have entered the wrong path from the two extremes. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is that which becomes omniscient in order to abandon all afflictions that connect with habitual tendencies. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is the mother of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas in order to generate the Buddhadharma. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is unborn and unceasing for the sake of its own nature, emptiness. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is the antidote to samsara in order to destroy that which dwells in assembly. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is that which bestows all precious dharmas and acts as a protector for sentient beings who have no protector. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is that which accomplishes the ten powers in order to be without decline. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is that which turns the wheel of dharma in twelve aspects three times in order to be without going and returning. Blessed One,

This Prajnaparamita thus makes manifest the true nature of all dharmas, for the sake of the emptiness of the self-nature of non-things, and is the self-nature. World Honored One, how does one abide in the Prajnaparamita? The World Honored One said: Shariputra, one should abide in the Prajnaparamita as one abides in the teacher. One should pay homage to the Prajnaparamita as one pays homage to the teacher. Why is that? Because this Prajnaparamita is the teacher. The teacher is not other, and the Prajnaparamita is not other, the teacher is the Prajnaparamita, and the Prajnaparamita is the teacher. Shariputra, therefore, all Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Buddhas arise from the Prajnaparamita. Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, as well as Pratyekabuddhas, as well as Arhats, as well as Anagamins, as well as Sakridagamins, as well as Srotapannas arise from this. Therefore, the paths of the ten virtuous actions arise from this. The four Dhyanas, as well as the four Immeasurables, as well as the four Formless Absorptions arise from this. The five Abhijñas, as well as inner emptiness, as well as outer emptiness, as well as inner-outer emptiness, as well as the emptiness of the self-nature of non-things, as well as the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, as well as the Noble Truths, as well as emptiness, as well as signlessness, as well as wishlessness, as well as the eight liberations, as well as the nine sequential abidings, as well as all Paramitas, as well as all Samadhis, as well as all Dharani gates, as well as the ten Bodhisattva grounds arise from this. The ten powers of the Tathagata, as well as the four fearlessnesses, as well as the four analytical knowledges, as well as the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha arise from this. Even up to all-knowingness arises from this. Then, the lord of the gods, Indra, thought: Why will the venerable Shariputra ask this? Then, the venerable Shari

The son of the venerable one, having fully understood with his mind the thoughts of the lord of the gods, Indra, then spoke thus to the lord of the gods, Indra: Kauśika, what is it that the venerable Śāriputra thinks, wondering why he would ask this question? Kauśika, bodhisattvas, great beings, who are upheld by the perfection of wisdom, skillfully dedicate to omniscience all the slight roots of virtue from the time those past, future, and present Buddhas, the Bhagavat, first generated the thought of enlightenment until they manifestly and completely awakened to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, and until the sacred Dharma remains. Therefore, he asks this question. Kauśika, this perfection of wisdom of the bodhisattvas, great beings, overwhelms the perfection of generosity. Likewise, it overwhelms the perfection of ethics, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, and the perfection of meditation. Kauśika, for example, if a hundred, a thousand, or hundreds of thousands of blind people have no guide, they have no chance to enter the path, how can they expect to enter the city? Kauśika, likewise, these five perfections are like blind people. If there is no perfection of wisdom, because there is no guide, there is no chance to enter the path, how can they expect to enter the great city of omniscience? Kauśika, when the five perfections are upheld by the perfection of wisdom, then they become endowed with eyes, and even obtain the name "perfection." Indra said: Venerable Śāriputra, in any case, if the five perfections are upheld by the perfection of wisdom, they also obtain the name "perfection," is that so? Venerable Śāriputra, even if the five perfections are upheld by the perfection of generosity, they also obtain the name "perfection."
