Because all-knowingness is not to be grasped. Shariputra, endowed with life, in this way, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, learning to grasp all dharmas, learns in all-knowingness, and by not grasping all dharmas, will surely realize all-knowingness. Shariputra said: "O venerable Subhuti, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva learns in this way, is he learning the Perfection of Wisdom, or will he surely realize all-knowingness?" Subhuti said: "O venerable Shariputra, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva learns in this way, he is learning the Perfection of Wisdom, and he will surely realize all-knowingness, for this belongs to his endurance." Shariputra, endowed with life, said: Shariputra, endowed with life, said: "O venerable Subhuti, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who learns in this way does not learn for the sake of grasping all dharmas and not grasping all dharmas, how will he realize all-knowingness?" Subhuti said: "O venerable Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom in this way, he does not see the arising of form, nor its cessation, taking, abandoning, defilement, purification, increase, decrease, loss, or gain. Why is that? O venerable Shariputra, it is because form is without its own nature of form. O venerable Shariputra, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva does not see the arising of feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness, nor their cessation, taking, abandoning, defilement, purification, increase, decrease, loss, or gain. Why is that? O venerable Shariputra, it is because consciousness is without its own nature of consciousness. Likewise, the individual and collective aggregates, as well as the realms, the sources, all emptinesses, and dependent origination.

The grounds and, the perfections and, the thirty-seven dharmas of enlightenment and, the immeasurables and, the meditations and, the formless absorptions and, the truths and, the superknowledges and, the samadhis and, the powers and, the individual perfect knowledges and, the unmixed Buddha-dharmas and, the birth up to all-knowingness is not seen. Cessation and, taking and, abandoning and, all afflictions and, purification and, increasing and, decreasing and, diminishing and, growing are not seen. Why is that? It is because all-knowingness up to all-knowingness is by nature nonexistent and invisible. Shariputra, endowed with life, in that way, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva studies all dharmas as unborn and, unceasing and, untaken and, unabandoned and, unafflicted and, unpurified and, unincreased and, undecreased and, undiminished and, ungrown, then by not studying and, by definitely not arising, having studied the Perfection of Wisdom, one will definitely realize all-knowingness, which is said to be the supreme part of that very dharma. These are what explain the path of the Pratyekabuddha. The path of the Pratyekabuddha.
