The Teaching on the Four Noble Truths. The Teaching on the Four Noble Truths. Thus it was said, and the venerable Shariputra said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, how should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva strive in the Perfection of Wisdom so that it may be said to be striving?" The Blessed One said: "Shariputra, here, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva strives in the emptiness of form, it is said to be striving. If one strives in the emptiness of feeling, it is said to be striving. If one strives in the emptiness of perception, it is said to be striving. If one strives in the emptiness of formations, it is said to be striving. If one strives in the emptiness of consciousness, it is said to be striving. Furthermore, Shariputra, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva strives in the emptiness of the eye, it is said to be striving. If one strives in the emptiness of the ear, it is said to be striving. If one strives in the emptiness of the nose, it is said to be striving. If one strives in the emptiness of smell, it is said to be striving. If one strives in the emptiness of the body, it is said to be striving. If one strives in the emptiness of the mind, it is said to be striving.
