If one has completely transcended the limbs such as form, these are not so. Whatever transcends the characteristic of form is the first. Transcending space is the second. Transcending the consciousness that enters space is the third. Transcending the consciousness that enters space, which is nothingness, is the fourth. Thus, all of these are obtained from transcending this object of focus, not from transcending the limbs. Because all of these depend on equanimity and one-pointedness of mind, they are the second limb of these. Just as with coarse, fine, very fine, and extremely fine cloths, the four cloths of water and equal width, even if there is no difference in size, due to the nature of being devoid of the touch of comfort and greatness, one is more excellent than the previous one, and the later one is more excellent than the later one. Similarly, even if there is no difference in these, due to the difference in meditation and the nature of approaching subtlety and peace, one should know that the later one is more excellent than the previous one, and is supremely excellent. The remaining part of liberation is as explained before, the complete realization of all aspects. The nine successive abidings are the four dhyanas, the formless absorptions, and the cessation absorption. The ten kasinas are earth, water, fire, wind, blue, yellow, red, and white, which are the eight kasinas, as well as the kasina of consciousness and the kasina of space. Among these, the kasina of earth refers to a yogi who, through practice, has become empowered to transcend dhyana and samadhi, and because there is still a slight obscuration, upon entering samadhi, due to coarse conceptual thoughts, sees the fault of weakened limbs. In order to realize the peace of the second dhyana, one must first completely abandon attachment to the first dhyana, and when individually examining the limbs of dhyana, even the coarse aspects of conceptual thought, such as the path, abide in peace. At that time, in order to abandon the coarse limbs, and the sign of earth itself.

By repeatedly focusing the mind in this way, one will be able to abide well in the exhaustion earth. Likewise, one should contemplate the exhaustion water and the other nine in the same manner. From previously cultivated and familiar places such as rivers, ponds, and lakes, exhaustion water arises even where it was not created. Similarly, from the tips of smoke from a forest fire, exhaustion fire arises. In places where the wind blows light, such as the leaves of trees, this wind resides and utterly destroys, from which exhaustion wind arises. From places where blue is laid out, such as flowers, jewels, and clothes, exhaustion blue arises. Likewise, from places where yellow, red, and white are, exhaustion yellow and so forth arise. From painted surfaces, silver, and the moon's disc, exhaustion white arises. From moonlight entering through a window, a place of sunlight, a collection of light arising from the side of a wall, light arising from within a collection of tree leaves, and viewing moonlight moved by the wind, exhaustion consciousness arises. From holes in windows, holes in walls, and holes in general, exhaustion space arises. If one is a beginner who has not cultivated, such yoga will not arise, therefore one should know the distinction of fully cultivating it. One should fill any vessel, such as a bowl dripping from a clean cloth, with water, free from distinctions of colors such as blue, and place it in a very good place. Sitting comfortably, one should begin to focus the mind, which is the complete cultivation of exhaustion water. Furthermore, one should cut pieces of something with essence and burn them under a tree or on an unparalleled platform, like a bowl smeared with oil. Create a hole one finger-width or four fingers-width high. Sitting comfortably in front of a leather or any grass mat, focus the mind on the pottery and trees below, with smoke tips above. In the center, take the sign of a dense mass of burning fire, which is the complete cultivation of exhaustion fire. Pierce a hole in the wall, or even if there is no hole, empty the inside of a window with a hole, and nearby
