Third, the chapter on omniscience. Third, the chapter on omniscience. Explaining by empowering non-dwelling in samsara and nirvana. Having explained the knowledge of the path, now I will speak of omniscience. For that, for a moment, by empowering non-dwelling in samsara and nirvana. Not the near shore, not the far shore, not dwelling in between them. Thus it is taught. As it is said, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he does not perceive the edge of the near shore, or the edge of the far shore, or in the middle of both, because it is extremely pure. It is the prevention of clinging to the perception of samsara and nirvana. Furthermore, how are those two not perceived? Because of knowing the equality of the three times. It is considered the Perfection of Wisdom. Thus it is said. As it is said, because it is not perceived, Subhuti! The three times are equality. It is reasonable that the grasping of it is spoken. Explaining the distance from the fruit mother. It is distant because of the lack of means. Thus it is said. What is the lack of means? It is through the door of focusing on characteristics. Thus it is said. How does the Perfection of Wisdom become distant by name only? Thus it is shown. The opposite of that is being skilled in means. It should be seen as being close to it. How is it that the realization of those who turn away from the realization of the Hearers and others is one-sided? Thus it is said, therefore they are not completely ultimate, and after grasping, the path is well explained and well shown to be ultimate. Explaining the opposing side. Empowering the opposing side. Form, etc., the aggregates are emptiness, and all the dharmas belonging to the three times, the dharmas with and without defilements, the dharmas of giving, etc., the aspects of enlightenment, the perception of practicing them is the opposing side. Thus it is said. How is it that by not being skilled in means, one perceives form as emptiness and perceives it as a dharma of the past, etc.? Likewise, From the first generation of mind, grasping, perceiving the perfection of generosity. Likewise, from the aspects of enlightenment, etc., to all-knowingness.

Up to now, it has been shown that clinging is attachment. What is the antidote? It is giving, etc., without self-grasping. It is said, as the sutra says: Furthermore, Shariputra, the son of good fortune! When a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, with skillful means, he does not cling to form as form, and does not even think of attaining all-knowingness. From showing the non-concordant aspects, all discriminations are prevented. Why? Because it is reasonable to grasp all emptiness, because with skillful means, there is no attachment. Also, the non-concordant aspect is, whoever, Kausika! A Bodhisattva clings to the mind, and with what attachment can he not be without attachment, if he does not practice the Prajnaparamita of non-attachment. It has been shown that the characteristic of attachment is: Why? Because from form to all-knowingness, it is prevented that there is no discrimination of self-grasping. Explanation of the antidote. The antidote aspect is: Furthermore, one should apply effort to that, which can prevent the extreme of attachment. It is shown as follows, as the sutra says: Others should truly show the prevention of self-grasping in that, should truly encourage, should truly generate joy, which is to abandon all extremes of attachment. In that, afflictions and carelessness, universal timidity, and those who enter into true timidity, should be truly shown, should be truly encouraged, should truly generate joy, should truly generate joy. It should be known that the order should be matched. It is shown as such. Also, attachment to kings, etc., is subtle. It is shown that following the good roots of those Tathagatas and dedicating them, and also focusing on the characteristics, is subtle attachment. Also, why is that characteristic called attachment? Because the path of Dharma is by nature, because of tranquility, it is profound. It is said that all Dharmas are by nature
