Thus it is said. The Vajrapani Empowerment, also known as the Practice Tantra, states: The vows and disciplines established by the complete Buddhas, the foundations for practicing and reciting, if one abides by them, the mantra practitioner should cultivate the mantra in this way. Thus it is said. In the Sadhana of Vajra Laughter by the Acharya, it is said: The mantra practitioner, through these aspects, protects the vows and samayas, in this very life, they will attain accomplishment, and obtain the essence of Vajra speech. Thus it is said. The Great Yoga Tantra called Guhyasamaja also states: Even if Bodhisattvas strive and search for as many eons as there are grains of sand in the Ganges, they will not become Buddhas. However, if one delights in Guhyasamaja, abides by its vows, and cultivates it, they will manifestly attain enlightenment in this very life. The Great Yoga Tantra called the Net of Illusion, All-Illuminating Lord, states: When the two faculties are in union, and body, speech, and mind are gathered together, generating the splendorous form of "I," adorned with all aspects, at that time, the one endowed with yoga will become complete wisdom. Thus it is said. In other texts, it is said that one should practice all the vows of skillful means and protect them without degeneration, and to know through wisdom that there is no need to protect is the supreme yogi. The Great Yoga Tantra called Guhyasamaja states: The desires, hatred, and ignorance that arise from non-discrimination, this supreme vehicle, the unsurpassed, becomes the supreme practice. Those of evil lineage, butchers, and others who seek to kill, this unsurpassed vehicle, they too will attain accomplishment in this supreme vehicle. Even sentient beings with heinous crimes and so forth, if they cultivate, they will attain accomplishment. Sentient beings who take life, who have faith in lying, who are attached to the wealth of others, and who constantly engage in desire, they become vessels for practice. Thus it is said. In the Siddhi of Wisdom, it is said: The yogi who abides in this way, like the waxing moon, will gradually increase and expand, and will never diminish. Some who are weak in diligence, though they may not attain Buddhahood, will attain the bliss of a Chakravartin king in all lifetimes. The merit of all Buddhas, in the ten directions.

All those existing in the three times are said to be pores of it. The supreme victor has declared so. It is said. In the eighth chapter, it says: Because it is the only friend of all sentient beings, the mind without deception, therefore, one should generate a steadfast mind. By doing this, one can attain complete Buddhahood, pleasing all those of joyful nature, and demons and obstacles, etc., will not seek opportunities, and Vajrapani, etc., will always protect with joy. It is said. It is also said that offering the great thousandfold world filled with seven precious jewels to the noble ones is not as meritorious as someone who abides in the samaya, abandons busyness, and abides in a solitary place, and remains in samadhi with two samadhis for a moment. Of these two, the one who remains in samadhi will obtain an immeasurable accumulation of merit. For example, a Chakravartin king adorned with virtues has the power to rule the four continents and can turn the wheel of Dharma. Similarly, a son of the Buddha adorned with the signs of abiding in vows and precepts will soon attain Buddhahood in seven lifetimes, and will accomplish all the deeds of the Buddha. Furthermore, just as the wish-fulfilling jewel, the king of power, cannot be obstructed by any being when it comes to the crown of anyone. Similarly, any mantra practitioner who adorns the three doors with the jewel of vows and samaya cannot be obstructed by any demons, etc. Furthermore, just as a person with eyes and feet can go to any place and accomplish all that is needed. Relying on the samaya of equality, which is like the eye, and the samaya of conduct, which is like the foot, one enters the path of wisdom directly, obtains the jewel of omniscience, and the benefit of oneself and others will be naturally accomplished. Furthermore, just as the king of mountains, the snowy mountain, has something called "difficult to separate from medicine." Whoever obtains it can eradicate poison and disease, etc., from the root and also achieve longevity. Similarly, the mind of the Vajra Master obtains the jewel of precious jewels, and anyone who has karma and fortune, by obtaining the medicine of vows, can dispel the habitual tendencies and the disease of afflictions accumulated from beginningless samsara.

May all be peaceful, and until the unsurpassed enlightenment is attained, may one also obtain the life of immortality. For example, a captain named Sonam, endowed with glory and skillful means, enters the great ocean, goes to the island of jewels, obtains precious jewels, and benefits himself and others. Likewise, relying on the virtuous friend, the captain who liberates beings from samsara, being tamed by discipline and vows, being skilled in means, and rowing the oar of diligence, one is liberated from the ocean of samsara, obtains the jewels of the three kinds of accomplishments, and benefits oneself and others. Thus, those yogis who wish to accomplish the omniscient wisdom should properly keep all vows and commitments, and in accordance with the tantras and sadhanas, in the place of contemplation, until spontaneous accomplishment, they should remain and practice like a stone, wood, or the corpse of a wild animal in the mountains. For the benefit of the yogis who remember themselves, I have briefly summarized the vows from the tantras and sadhanas. I ask for forgiveness for any harm caused to the assembly of noble ones and dakinis. By this, may I attain the Vajradhara state, including the three realms! The "Brief Summary of Vows for Beginners," composed by the teacher Jñānabodhi, who resides at the root of the blessed land, is complete. Translated by the Indian abbot Kamalagupta and the translator Sönam Gyaltsen. Brief Summary of Vows for Beginners.
