Homage to the Bhagavan Mañjuvajra! You who destroy the wrong views of ignorance, With wisdom and compassion like the sun, You eliminate all obscurations of unknowing, Homage to Vajra-vidāraṇā. In order to dispel the net of delusion, In order to wash away the stain of desire, In order to pacify hatred, This is explained based on the tantra. One who possesses love and compassion, Enters well into the meaning of the Great Vehicle, Having first perfected the recitation, And diligently practiced by one who keeps vows. With faith and endowed with loving-kindness, In a secluded place, delightful with mountains and forests, One should dwell completely. The practice to be done beforehand is: Contemplate the seven root mandalas, Clearly visualizing oneself as a wrathful form, One should recite the root mantra: Om Namo Ratna Trayaya Namaḥ Caṇḍa Vajrapāṇaye Mahā Yakṣa Senāpataye Hūṃ Hūṃ (嗡 皈依三宝 皈依忿怒金刚手 大夜叉军主 吽 吽). Offer tormas to the guardians of the directions, With vajra songs. To the wicked ones with great sins, After commanding and expelling the lords of the earth, Purify the grasped, and make the mandala well, And offer well to the goddesses of the earth. In vases of gold and silver, The eight auspicious symbols and essences, And others filled with fragrant water. The four directions are white, blue, red, And green, with clean cloth as rings. Diadems and ten pegs, And tormas, offerings, auspicious substances, Gather the materials and implements, And do the work of lines and colors, Bless the lines with the steadfast mantra.
