The Hundred Verses on Understanding the Essence The Hundred Verses on Understanding the Essence In Sanskrit: Pratīpattti Sāra Śatakaṃ. In Tibetan: The Hundred Verses on Understanding the Essence. Homage to glorious Vajra Heruka! Whoever is supremely excellent, the equality of all dharmas is also their nature. The victorious one who delights the Vajra beauties with his charming form. The splendor of the mandala wheel, which manifests many forms of emanation bodies. I rely on the feet of Heruka, the glorious and incomparable one. To him who, filled with objects, seems arrogant, though this multitude of thoughts is abandoned from the fruit, yet for the sake of completely transforming into the joy of exquisite beauty, the meaning of suchness. I pay homage to him who teaches the essence of understanding. Always without thought, unmixed, Without birth and without obstruction, The mind that has abandoned discarding and accumulating Is indeed Hevajra himself. In various forms of emanation bodies, Various aspirations and discriminations, By realizing one's own nature, One's own essence is without attachment. This is the mandala of self-nature, All forms are completely clear light, The nature of the five pure wisdoms, Supreme and without waves. By the nature of non-elaboration, Thus, in the form of a deity, All joy is perfectly complete, Destroying all afflictions. Form and so forth are thus suchness, Abiding in the form of suchness, It should be well understood as not being grasped, That realization is devoid of characteristics. The essence of all dharmas Is not just emptiness alone, Therefore, truly know that mandala, In all aspects, it is devoid of characteristics. All the channels are dakinis, The five aggregates are also the mandala, All things are equally joined, The inconceivable mind of the Vajra Holder. In all places, the bodies and Likewise, all the lineages are also that, The mudras, signs, and so forth, That is how it is, thus they play. In all places, that is equal absorption, The feast of great bliss is enjoyed. The form of the Vajra Holder is perfect, This is boundless What more is there to say? The aggregates are that, the elements are that, The sense bases are also those, All are of one taste, equally absorbed, It is the manifestation of the Vajra Holder. This Vajra Holder is those, And those are also from the Vajra Holder, There is no difference.

This is the co-emergent wisdom, clear and unblemished, without any support. In that place, all appearances of the mind shine and radiate clearly, becoming equal; The distinctions between mind and mental events vanish, and everything becomes Samadhi. In that place, the taste of supreme bliss, like an empowerment, purifies the self, And the great beauty of the mandala and its deities is seen radiating in the light. When the dust of pure conceptualization is wiped away, Everything is clear and extremely luminous. The collection of limitless forms and images, Is beautiful in the mirror of the mind. Just as a mirror stained with sindur dust, Cannot reflect a collection of images, Likewise, this mind, defiled by the peculiarities of conceptualization, Is far from being clear. Running after clinging to self and other, The mind is made to wander outward. Not resting equally within and without, Alas, how strange are beings exhausted by their own actions! The yogi who is beautiful by being free from the duality of two, Whatever actions he desires, like a rain of joyful tastes, Though relying on all kinds of charms, It is wonderful that he does not become joyful and bound by them! Abandoning the appearance of duality, it is extremely clear. The wise, in the fortunate touch, Permeated by dense joy, filled with powerful taste, in the midst of the sky. All the various radiating lights, gathered closely within, In the mind, the appearance of the three worlds abides as if dissolving into it. Being filled by one's own nature, This is the order of self-bestowed blessings. Liberation is certain from duality itself, It is expressed by its own sound. Mantra (སྔགས།,mantra,मन्त्र,mantra,咒语) and true descent, Charms and laughter, etc., are without order. Non-mantra mind, There is no formation, arising, or occurrence. Where things are in their own nature, Contained within their own nature. By the exhaustion of perverse nature, This spontaneously arising joy manifests. The distinction between pleasure and pain, Is a distinction given by discrimination. Non-discriminating, non-objective, Is the great bliss of non-objectivity. There is no appearance, nor clarity, There is no entering, nor thought.
