A Difficult Commentary on the Dohākośa, called: Hiding the Source of Liberation. A Difficult Commentary on the Dohākośa. Hiding the Source of Liberation. In Indian language: Dohākośapañjikānāma. In Tibetan language: A Difficult Commentary on the Dohākośa. Homage to youthful Mañjuśrī! Homage to the co-emergent one, in whom emptiness and compassion are of the same taste! Homage to the feet of the guru, who with the nectar of his mouth, destroys the lord of death of beings! I shall write a difficult commentary on the Dohākośa, in order to awaken the intelligence of the deluded, for the benefit of beings. In this mantra vehicle, it is said that perfect enlightenment depends on the guru, therefore one should first examine the guru. Relying on a guru who is not excellent will cause oneself to decline, therefore the faults of such a guru are shown, as indicated by "poisonous snake" and so on. For example, if one is afflicted by a Soga fever, one mistakes a poisonous snake for shade and goes near it, it will kill oneself. If one regards evil gurus as gurus, and approaches them out of urgent need, by relying on them, one will contract their faults, namely evil views and evil conduct. One should avoid them as if they were snakes. If one wonders who are these gurus who are like snakes? From "the Brahmin who does not know that" to "falls into falsehood", the Brahmins are revealed. From "if one holds the Vedas" to "burns in the fire", these are householders. From "cane" to other words, the ascetics are revealed. "Cane" is what was first revealed by ascetic discipline. From "ashes of Era" to "shows to others", the lords of power are revealed, which is easy to understand. From "long fingernails" to "there is never liberation", the worthy of offerings are revealed, which is easy to understand. From "merely physical asceticism" to "holding the manner of the Buddha", these are those who have entered the Lesser Vehicle. From "the cause for the Great Vehicle" to "is a treatise of valid cognition", it is shown that one has entered the causal vehicle. Some meditate on all the mandalas and wheels, which shows that one has entered the resultant vehicle, abiding in the yoga of conceptualization. Realizing the realm of space, is common to outsiders and those who are correct, namely looking at space and time.

Observing places and observing directions. Among them, the first is to observe impermanence by the sudden appearance of clouds in the cloudless sky; to observe impermanence by the change of seasons; and the direction is to observe impermanence by the rising and setting of the sun. Explaining the fourth meaning is to understand the fourth as the third meaning, thereby relying on the bliss of attaining Buddhahood. Some of these are contrary to Suchness, and some are contrary to the unerring Suchness. Therefore, having recognized those who are not true gurus, one should abandon them. From the opposite of those gurus, enter the unerring Suchness, and rely on those who are able to reveal Suchness. Then, one should seek the meaning of Suchness. First, in order to recognize what is not Suchness, one should recognize and abandon all meditations that are inconsistent with Suchness and have attachments, which is indicated by "someone for something" and so on. Among them, someone refers to a person. Something refers to a deity such as a Yidam. Becoming devout means particularly believing that "he can liberate me." Abiding in meditation means practicing through the gateway of the generation stage. Not attaining liberation means not becoming a Buddha. As the glorious Hevajra says: "Mantras without deities do not exist." And as the "Namasangiti" says: "Not grasping as mine, not grasping as I." Therefore, what need is there for lamps? Divine food needs lamps. What to do with this? What is the need to rely on secret mantras? This means that one cannot be liberated by pleasing them through offerings and recitations. Obtaining from a cliff, or until what point, one cannot be liberated by observing divine images. So, what is Suchness like? Thinking this, it is said "separated from compassion" and so on, the meaning of which is: emptiness and compassion are of the same taste. Among them, what is emptiness? It is the illusory appearance, which is empty of substance. That is the emptiness that possesses all excellent aspects. This is also what the "Namasangiti" says: "Formless, excellent form, supreme, possessing various forms, born from the mind." And as this scripture says: "The illusory yogi is the supreme realization." Therefore, that is seen directly, not like annihilationist emptiness or eternalist emptiness that cannot be seen directly. The vajra becomes
