Clarity of Wisdom and Knowledge. Clarity of Wisdom and Knowledge. In Sanskrit: Prajna Jnana Prakasam. In Tibetan: Clarity of Wisdom and Knowledge. Homage to the noble Lama! Just as the rising sun's rays cause the lotus forests to open, In an instant, one attains the beautiful state of holding all the bliss of omniscience. Cutting the bonds of connecting to rebirth and eliminating the faults of ignorance in beings, May the teachings of the Victorious One, coming from virtuous friends, always bring peace to the king's path. By the princes such as Manjuvajra, Who possesses the path of realizing perfect wisdom? To the intelligence of ordinary individuals like myself, May it be appropriate to bear with this expression as long as it is remembered. The teacher, glorious lord of hermitage, found this path coming from the mountain of Holding the Sun. This has been clearly shown to me by the Victorious One who illuminates. Therefore, with an immaculate mind, I will explain it here, may beings have faith. Whatever here is not in accordance with scripture and reason, may the wise abandon it. The aggregates, elements, and sense bases, By examining their existence or non-existence, are empty. Wisdom and knowledge are likewise. Therefore, wisdom and knowledge are explained. This is the transcendent Bhagavan, with unsurpassed great compassion without object, possessing all supreme qualities, the Suchness called unsurpassed. Although it is without inherent existence, having other names, By the power of past aspirations, without effort, Union. By perfectly maintaining a form that benefits all sentient beings, the profound and vast wealth of great bliss is shown. However, with the intention of benefiting limitless sentient beings wandering in the illusion of existence, With various methods of liberating many sentient beings, making the Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and the Great Vehicle equal with various teachings. With great reverence, the pure-minded wise one who practices celibacy, serving the Lama, Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas. A skillful intelligence who has well mastered the Sutras, Abhidharma, Vinaya, and Jataka tales. Having trained and tamed, abandoning non-virtuous actions.

(Chapter Title) Those whose minds abide in virtuous deeds and are filled with compassion, for the sake of learning to turn their backs on attachment to samsara. Relying on the excellent spiritual friend, in order to swiftly attain the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, from entering the mandala onwards, with water and headdresses, etc., as preliminaries, thereby revealing the most excellent wisdom. Now, why are these taught? Because attachment and the like are the cause of wandering in the lower realms for a long time in samsara. Moreover, sentient beings, clinging to repulsive births for a long time, become ignorant, thereby generating attachment and hatred, and committing sinful, non-virtuous deeds. Therefore, they will experience great suffering in places such as animals, pretas, and hells. Like this, combining with attachment and the like, isn't it like feeding milk to those who hold poison, only increasing the poison? If asked in this way, this is true, because those who are separated from spiritual friends will be utterly tormented along with attachment and the like. Therefore, many paths such as the Hearers' and Solitary Buddhas' vehicles are taught. Furthermore, for those who are completely free from attachment, praising attachment causes them great suffering, so attachment is not taught for their sake. As it is said in the sutra: "Whoever becomes attached to desire, Will again have doubts. Those who have abandoned desire, Even if free from desire, should not touch it." It is also said: "Like the sin of being free from desire, There is no other in the three realms. Therefore, the abandonment of desire, You should never do." This was said by the Bhagavan. For those who are not free from desire, great desire is shown. As it is said in the sutra: "The desiring one joyfully enjoys objects, The one free from desire abandons joy. The yogi with stainless wisdom, Neither takes nor abandons, nor does he make." The Venerable Drapa Nön also said: "Some abandon objects, Some are bound by objects. Some, through those very objects, The excellent person attains enlightenment." Therefore, sentient beings with desire should be led into the state of non-desire, greed.
