Commentary on the Noble Vajrapani Blue-Clad One, Subduer of the Three Fierce Ones. Commentary on the Noble Vajrapani Blue-Clad One, Subduer of the Three Fierce Ones. In Sanskrit: Arya Nilambara Dhara Vajrapani Rudra Vitita Tantra Vritti Nama. In Tibetan: Commentary on the Noble Vajrapani Blue-Clad One, Subduer of the Three Fierce Ones. Homage to the Bhagavan Manjushri Vajra. He who liberates from the poison of afflictions, Whose form appears as inseparable wrath and desire in ultimate truth, He who subdues the poisons of the malicious, To that compassionate one, I pay utmost homage. Distinguishing between poisonous food, water, and milk, For the benefit of this tantra, I compose this based on the lineage of gurus. Indivisible in method and wisdom, Marked by the sign of immutable non-duality, Subduing the three fierce afflictions, Transcending afflictions and knowable objects, Explaining the ineffable, non-conceptual body meaning. Thus I have heard, at one time, the Bhagavan, the subduer of demons, together with the host of demons, resided in the palace of Paranirmita-vasavartin in Akanistha, which is to say, after the Bhagavan generated the mind of enlightenment, the Bhagavan Dipamkara Buddha prophesied, showing this. The beings to be tamed were tamed by the Bhagavan manifesting complete enlightenment, illuminating with countless billions of lights, purifying the three lower realms, showing movement, shaking, and quaking, and residing at the very heart of the Vajra Seat, the essence of enlightenment. Then, Mara Delightful Lord, together with his retinue, arrived there by the power of samadhi, and in order to obstruct, spoke these words: 'You have not fully ripened sentient beings, You have not perfected the six perfections, Having perfected these two practices, Then one can manifest complete enlightenment, Therefore, you are not worthy.' Thus he spoke. The meaning of this is, 'You have not fully ripened sentient beings, you have not trained your mind for countless eons, you need to practice the six paramitas, but since you have not practiced them, you are not worthy of becoming a Buddha.' In order to reverse the perverse thought of that Mara, the Bhagavan with his right hand

Having struck with the vajra, all the earth shook and trembled. In front of the Blessed One, the earth goddess, like pure gold, appeared. Just by appearing, the maras sat still in terror. Then, the Blessed One instructed the earth goddess, telling her to take a tiny particle from the earth, saying, "There is the potential for enlightenment." The maras, agitated, went into the sky. Then, that mara, the son of the god of Paranirmita-vasavartin, and the nagas dwelling underground, and the yakshas Vajrapani dwelling on the earth, and all the retinue of maras gathered together. Then, the maras and their retinue hurled various weapons at the Blessed One, and sent down thunder and hail, and roared angrily like fierce wild animals, and hurled mountains and rocks without obstruction, but all of this was pacified by the Blessed One. Nothing could harm him. Then, in the center of the sky, the body of Vajrapani, blessed by the light of all the Tathagatas of the three times, remained in equipoise in samadhi. The moment he entered samadhi, there was shaking and trembling. Those maras, wondering what had happened, looked in all directions with minds full of fear and suffering. Then, they looked up at the sky, and upon seeing, their hearts were about to break, and they fell to the ground, possessing the initial thought. Then, countless emanations of Vajrapani Bodhisattvas emerged from other realms and circumambulated the Blessed One. As soon as the hand of the Bodhisattva Vajrapani touched those maras, they immediately regained their memory, and compassion arose in their minds, and they also saw the great wrathful one in the sky. They quickly sought refuge in Vajrapani, uttering the words: "Lord, protect us! Protect us from this great fear!" Vajrapani replied, "Go there!" and they went to seek refuge. Then, at that time, I heard the supplication of Vajrapani. It was heard at one time. So, from where was it heard? It was heard from the Blessed One.
