Chapter One: Teaching in Conjunction with the Five Perfections of Questioning and Answering. Chapter One: Teaching in Conjunction with the Five Perfections of Questioning and Answering. In Sanskrit: Arya Manjushri Nama Samgiti. Artha Alokara Nama. In Tibetan: The Meaning that Clarifies the Perfect Recitation of the Names of Noble Manjushri. Homage to Manjushri, the Wisdom Hero! Immovable, unobstructed, and pure; Self-born wisdom, clear light; Manjushri, the peaceful wisdom mind; The self-born form body, without conceptualization; To that protector, I respectfully bow. The vast, profound, and pure continuum; Like a precious jewel, the intention; Though the means for beings are inconceivable; By the blessings and instructions of the Sugata Teacher; I will clearly explain one aspect of the definitive meaning. This "Perfect Recitation of the Names of Manjushri" is taught with nine general topics: Chapter One, teaching in conjunction with the five perfections of questioning and answering; Chapter Two, teaching the meaning of the sixth, the great non-abiding wisdom, Vajradhara; Chapter Three, teaching the meaning of the emptiness of phenomena, the Dharmadhatu; Chapter Four, teaching the meaning of the ground being unceasing, the mirror-like wisdom; Chapter Five, teaching the meaning of individually examining the root of the ground, the wisdom of individual discrimination; Chapter Six, teaching in conjunction with the wisdom of equality, the nature of the ground being without arising or ceasing; Chapter Seven, teaching the meaning of unobstructed knowledge, the wisdom of accomplishing activities; Chapter Eight, teaching the expression of greatness, including the sound of mantras; Chapter Nine, teaching the ultimate fulfillment of self and other's benefit through the door of rejoicing. Then, Chapter One is explained. "Then" refers to the Teacher and others being perfectly situated. This shows the perfection of time. "Then, the glorious Vajradhara" refers to the questioner, which is the glory of discriminating self and the glory of compassion for others. The Vajra of meaning possesses the cause of Dharma, and the appearance of qualities is illuminated by two causes, inseparable. "The best of those who tame the untamable" refers to the activity of the Teacher's incarnate lamas, the methods being uninterrupted. "The hero who conquers the three realms."

It means: Destroying the afflictions and sufferings of the three realms, not being tainted by their faults, and appearing as the wisdom of illusion. How is it possible to destroy samsara in this way? Because it is Vajra, it is自在 (Skt. Īśvara), it is the master of secrets, so it is said to be superior to the higher ones. "Eyes like blooming white lotuses," means that the petitioner accomplishes things, knowing exactly how to subdue anyone in any way. Having five eyes, accomplishing things without being tainted by faults, like a lotus. "Sitting on a blooming lotus seat," this shows the perfection of the place. Residing on Vulture Peak Mountain means residing in a state of faultlessness. "The supreme vajra in one's own hand," means that in order to show that one possesses the true vajra, one holds the vajra as a symbol. "Shaking again and again," means overwhelming the afflictions of the three realms and all afflictions. "Having layers of frowning wrinkles," etc., means having a retinue that is in accordance with the Dharma, a perfect retinue. "Immeasurable Vajra-holder," means that his retinue, the emanation retinue holding the lineage, is beyond counting. "Heroic tamer of the difficult to tame," means that these retinues can also destroy ignorance and wrong views. "Having a terrifying power," means having the radiance to overwhelm demons and rakshasas. Vajra means knowledge. The tip means wisdom. Radiating means uninterrupted. One's own means knowledge. In the hand means the skill of merit. Shaking means accomplishing the benefit of beings with compassion. "Having great compassion" does not refer to compassion with action, but to great compassion without action. So, where does this come from? It is called wisdom, that is, impartial wisdom. "The supreme one who accomplishes the benefit of beings with skillful means," means that the five wisdoms without fabrication arise, transforming into two bodies, accomplishing the benefit of beings. This also indicates that, measured from other perspectives, it is the body and wisdom that transcend fabrication. "Having a joyful and delighted thought," means being delighted without afflictions. "Having the form of a wrathful body," means that on the body of uninterrupted skillful means, it also appears as such. "The lord who accomplishes the deeds of the Buddha," means having the four immeasurables or
