The Sadhana of Glorious Vajrabhairava, Lalitavajra. The Sadhana of Glorious Vajrabhairava. Lalitavajra. In Sanskrit: Śrīvajrabhairavasādhananopikṣa. In Tibetan: The Sadhana of Glorious Vajrabhairava. Homage to Glorious Vajrabhairava! Supreme in form, exceedingly fierce and great, the realm of activity of the supreme hero. Performing the deeds of taming the untamable, having paid homage to Vajrabhairava, The means of accomplishment, in a truly perfect way, I shall now definitely speak. Having relied on the Tantra of Realization of Joy, one should engage in this order. Possessing the characteristics of being complete and so forth, one should first please the Lama. The ultimate meaning of Vajrabhairava, all of that is the same for the disciple. At all times, being compassionate, one should meditate on all sentient beings. The mantra practitioner, having first arisen, should meditate in whatever way is comfortable. First, in a charnel ground or by the bank of a river, or in a solitary tree or solitary place. At a crossroads or on a mountain, at the summit or in an empty house. In a house of matrikas or a beautiful rooftop, or in the houses of the gods. On a battlefield or in an empty city, in pleasant villages. Having sat on a soft cushion and so forth, meditate on a thangka and other forms. With offerings and nectar and so forth, peaceful and other distinctions. The torma of all kinds of flesh, give to the bhutas and other fearsome ones. First, request forgiveness from the deities, all the field protectors and so forth depart. In the heart, the moon and sun mandala reside. The letter Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,हुं,hūṃ,吽) is blazing and supreme. From that, a garland of light radiates, having summoned Bhairava and so forth. With the offerings that the deities hold in their hands, perfectly worship. By that, the Bhagavat Buddhas are pleased, also offer together to the retinue. Confess all sins, eliminate those that have been born and arisen. In the presence of the Buddhas, declare that you will not commit them. Likewise, rejoice in the merit, I dedicate all to the happy realms. Go for refuge to the Three Jewels, I will liberate all sentient beings. Establish them in the state of enlightenment, generate the mind of perfect enlightenment. The path of the mansion of the four immeasurables, make the seven offerings excellently. Request the principal one to reside in the sky. All the deities and dharmas, think of them all as being without self.

First, by reciting this mantra, likewise, remember selflessness. Oṃ svabhāva śuddhāḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho'haṃ. (藏文:ཨོཾ་སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷཿ་སརྦ་དྷརྨཱཿ་སྭ་བྷ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷོ྅ཧཾ།,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ svabhāva śuddhāḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho'haṃ,Literal meaning: Om, purity of nature, all dharmas, purity of nature am I.) Oṃ śūnyatā jñāna vajra svabhāva ātma ko'haṃ. (藏文:ཨོཾ་ཤཱུ་ནྱ་ཏཱ་ཛྙཱ་ན་བཛྲ་སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཨཱཏྨ་ཀོ྅ཧཾ།,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ śūnyatā jñāna vajra svabhāva ātma ko'haṃ,Literal meaning: Om, emptiness wisdom vajra nature self am I.) With this, contemplate all phenomena and oneself as empty. For the sake of benefiting unsurpassed sentient beings, remember the vows of the past. From emptiness, the letter yaṃ arises, contemplate the mandala of wind. A seat of vajra, the color of smoke. In its center, the letter a transforms into a moon. Above it, the letter dhīḥ, is the form of Mañjuśrī Kumārabhūta. With this, contemplate in the heart, from the letter āḥ, a sun mandala. Self and sun become one, from which rays of light emanate. At its peak, rays of light emanate, the form of Mañjuśrī is inconceivable. Holding a vajra sword in the right hand, and in the left hand, a threatening mudrā. Thoroughly slaying obstacles and hindrances, again Gathered, dissolves into its center. Again, with the spreading of light, Completely abides in the ten directions. Thus gone ones and bodhicitta, Holders of knowledge and hosts of deities, wrathful ones and all those. Again gathered, dissolves into the sun. Thus gone ones and Mañjuśrī, Holders of knowledge and hosts of deities, contemplate becoming one with the sun. With the blazing light of great ferocity, for hundreds of thousands of yojanas, Completely pervades all, thoroughly abiding. In its center, contemplate the palace. Four-cornered with four doors, adorned with four horse supports. With banners, bells, and so forth, adorned with garlands and so forth. In the depths of the door frames, adorned with vajras, jewels, and so forth. Contemplate the double-tiered wheel, fifty without one missing. Lotus and moon perfectly abide, above them, a sun mandala. All supremely burning, possessing rays of light with blazing flames. On it, in order, again, fifty without one missing. The deities in its center, contemplate on top of corpses. East, south, west, and, north and center, in order. Head, hands, intestines, legs. Fire and so forth, also in the four corners. Likewise, skull cups, a charnel ground. Also place the cloth of the charnel ground. Erect a clear wooden man, also the name of the mudrā. On the four cloths of the east and so forth, a knife and weapon point upwards, and a stake.
