A Commentary on the Glorious Secret Assembly, King of Tantras, The Vajra Explanation. A Commentary on the Glorious Secret Assembly, King of Tantras. The Vajra Explanation. Chapter One: Explaining the Meaning of Blessing the Mandala of Samadhi of All Tathagatas. In Sanskrit: Tantra Raja Shri Guhyasamaja Tika. In Tibetan: A Commentary on the Glorious Secret Assembly, King of Tantras. Homage to the Vajra of the Essence of Bodhicitta. The chief of all without exception, the victorious ones, endowed with body, speech, and mind, and with goddesses in the great bliss, I constantly pay homage with faith. Whoever possesses pure reasoning and has faith in the Secret Assembly, now on the path of faith, the Sugata has declared the root. Relying on that, the secrets of the body, speech, and mind of the protectors, for the sake of yogis to realize, I will explain without error. This is taught with five perfections at the beginning and end. What are the five? The teacher, the compilation, the place, the retinue, and the perfection of the tantra. Among them, the teacher is the Bhagavan. "Thus have I heard at one time" indicates the compilation. The place is from "of all the Tathagatas" to "resides on the lotus." From "unspeakable and again unspeakable" to "appearing as full" indicates the retinue. Furthermore, from "and" to "thus," the perfection of the tantra is indicated. Why is that? Because saying "thus" draws out the meaning of the tantra that will appear below, completing the beginning and end. "I" means not like something transmitted from others, because it is not appropriate to say that the Vajra Dharma, having directly realized enlightenment, heard it transmitted from others. Therefore, from "thus" to "manifestly praised," it shows that it was heard directly. It is not just holding onto "I" alone, because it would contradict the words arising from the place, such as "unspeakable." Hearing is in the form of speech appearing as sound. Among them, what others refute is that having directly realized enlightenment, it is non-dual.

The speaker is like this. It is sufficient to say that the Buddha spoke it, and there is no need to say "Thus I have heard," because it is appropriate to say it after the Buddha's Nirvana. If it is obvious When he was alive, it was inappropriate to say, "Thus I have heard." The answer is: It is appropriate. Because all the tantras are called "Thus I have heard," but the Buddha's Nirvana is not mentioned in any other tantras. Also, what is the need for this? If there are no others who come out of this tantra, if there are no questioners, how will these tantras arise? In order to dispel these doubts, it is said in conjunction with the context. Therefore, by means of taming, the nature of one and many is shown. As it is said: The pure body is not unique, and for all wrong views and distinctions, it also shows separate bodies of taming. It is said like this. They benefit sentient beings in all directions with four kinds of taming methods, that is, it is said like this: birth, renunciation, asceticism, enlightenment, subduing the demons, turning the wheel of Dharma, showing miracles, Nirvana, etc. And the six supernatural eyes, etc., and the four kinds of pervasive inconceivable bodies, etc., appear like this. This is like the image of a water vessel. Moreover, according to the ability of the disciples, the five vehicles such as the Deva Vehicle and the Human Vehicle are preached. It is said, will say, it is said like this. The so-called "one time" is combined with "that time." This is not like the difference between "this time" and "that time," but it means that the expression of time does not clearly indicate the past, present, and future three times. The so-called "Bhagavan" means that he has conquered the four demons with wisdom and is endowed with six excellent qualities, so he is called "Bhagavan," that is, Bodhicitta Vajra. Also, here, because he dwells in the realm of joy, he is also called so. It is also said that the nature of wisdom is "Bhaga," whoever possesses them is like that. Tathagata etc. are superior
