The Seven Limbs. Ngakgi Wangchuk Drakpa (name of the author). The Seven Limbs. Ngakgi Wangchuk Drakpa (name of the author). Chapter One: The Order of Drawing Small Images. In Sanskrit: Saptāṅga. In Tibetan: The Seven Limbs. Homage to youthful Manjushri. Sentient beings are without movement, the body is completely filled with bliss. Equal to the sky, possessing exceedingly superior compassion. The constantly unceasing body, completely empty by totality. To the powerful sage possessing the seven limbs, I prostrate. Having paid homage to the Lord of the World, in order to thoroughly realize the Great Seal, with the order of small images, with the seven limbs, distinguish the meaning of the fourth. Not having the nature of complete enjoyment and union of great bliss, filled with compassion, constantly unceasing, without obstruction. Possessing the seven limbs, possessing meaning, in this to be accomplished, I completely meditate with valid cognition, and is also praised by the wise. Thus, because it possesses sound, and also because it possesses the meaning of sound, thus, because it arises from the meaning of sound, I regard the fourth as emptiness. These two verses show the Great Seal of Vajrasattva and others, just like bestowing the Great Seal alone. Among them, "Having paid homage to the Lord of the World," refers to paying homage to the Bhagavan Lord of the World. "In order to thoroughly realize the Great Seal," refers to understanding the meaning of the fourth empowerment, which is the nature of the Great Seal empowerment. "With the order of small images," refers to calling a small-sized image a small image, that is, a small image of the size of a span or a cubit. Among them, "order" refers to the order of painting, up to "gradually." "With the seven limbs," refers to symbolizing the meaning of the fourth with the seven limbs. "Completely distinguish," refers to understanding with distinction. Therefore, since the painter is a wise person, a small image should be drawn. First, at the bottom, draw a yellow vase that shows the six empowerments. Above it, draw a red vajra that shows the secret empowerment. Above it, draw a light blue Dharma origin that shows the wisdom wisdom empowerment.
