That is to say, such as embracing and so on. The Vipāka is the opposite of this, which is to enjoy the wisdom of bliss. Vipāka is discrimination, that is, I enjoy bliss. Apart from the three self-natures, abandon desire and non-desire. Thus it is said. It is also said that non-desire is also not free from desire, and it is also not available in the middle way. Completely abandoning these three is the co-emergent true Bodhi. The meaning of this is what the Blessed One said in the Glorious Guhyasamāja: What is to be accomplished and what can be accomplished are truly combined, and that is called approaching. Because the vajra and lotus are combined, it is called close cultivation. Running is the accomplishment of self-nature, with the syllables Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,हुं,hūṃ,seed syllable) and Phaṭ (ཕཊ,phaṭ,phaṭ,seed syllable). Self-nature bliss is supreme and peaceful, and should be said to be a great accomplishment. What is to be accomplished is wisdom, and what can be accomplished is means. The complete union of the two is approaching, and inserting the vajra into the lotus is close accomplishment. Running is accomplishment, the self-nature is supreme and peaceful, and should be said to be a great accomplishment. By combining what is to be accomplished and what can be accomplished, joy is between the vajra and the lotus entering each other, and filling the mind of enlightenment from extreme running is great joy, and appearing outward is separation from joy. When the supreme bliss is peaceful in the middle of the two,

Of the joy-separated center itself, the Vajra Holder of emptiness within emptiness, with words such as these. What is emptiness within emptiness? The beginningless, endless, peaceful one, the essence of being and non-being, the chief, emptiness and compassion inseparable, the mind of enlightenment is greatly remembered, such is the ultimate conclusion. How is this generated by what means? With means such as mandalas and wheels, and the sequence of self-blessing. I have not extensively explained this here. Why? This wisdom is self-awareness, beyond the realm of speech, this sequence of self-blessing, is the nature of the all-knowing wisdom itself. Furthermore, it is said: "Not spoken by others, co-emergent, wherever sought, it is not found, rely on the lineage of the lama, and realize it through one's own merit." Through the kindness of the lama's feet, and those endowed with great merit, wisdom arises in an instant, beyond the realm of speech. Thus, it is said: "The great bliss king, the sole victor, constantly appears to beings through cause and effect. When one speaks of it, the all-knowing one is exhausted by words." What Saraha said: "The lama does not speak with words, and the disciple does not understand either. The essence of the co-emergent nectar of all beings, what is recited and what is to be recited? Because it is not the realm of the mind, it cannot be spoken with words." The lama said, "One practices for a long time because things enter. It gradually possesses qualities such as compassion, and faith arises in the heart of the faithful." What is the nature of generating the mind of enlightenment? The sense faculties themselves turn back, the mind enters within, the power of the mind diminishes and is clearly visible, the body experiences supreme bliss. The collection of sense faculties sinks within, and because conceptual thoughts diminish, the seed of existence is not obtained. This nature of the light of joy is like the sky, rare, cool, and sweet. In whom the sense faculties dissolve, and one's own nature diminishes, that is co-emergent joy, ask clearly at the feet of the lama. Therefore, it is said: "At the same time"

To both the realm and the faculties, to that which arises and ceases, I prostrate. The one form that is manifestly joyful, the adornment of the Victorious Ones, is clear and awake in the hearts of the wise. Therefore, all conceptual thoughts are utterly destroyed, and here, with wisdom, one desires the supreme bliss. That is the wise one who has accomplished the task; the others are two-legged animals. Thus it is said. Enough of the extensive explanation for now. Therefore, having truly pleased the supreme Guru, the supreme disciple should realize the nature of great bliss, which is realized within the three bodies, as self-awareness. This is called obtaining the supreme faculty. Having accomplished the task, one should say this: Today, my birth is with fruit, I, the lord, am endowed with fruit. Today, I am born into the Buddha lineage, I am today a son of the Buddha. Likewise, these qualities spoken by the Sugata, I offer to that Guru. Various jewels and clothes, and especially my own body, I offer. Thus it is said. Then, perform the fire offering and give the torma, and then perform the feast gathering extensively. After holding a feast for the Sangha, satisfy the suffering and helpless. From the abbreviated empowerment ritual, may whoever has gained immeasurable merit, through that, gain the lineage of the self-born Vajradhara, the non-dual, inconceivable great bliss. The well-made concise empowerment, composed by the great scholar Pal Khavajra, is complete. The extent of the text is three hundred verses, one fascicle. By the command of the lord Tsede Tsenpo at the Toling Monastery (established around the 10th or 11th century AD, located in present-day Zanda County, Ngari Prefecture, Tibet, China), it was translated by the Indian Khenpo, the great scholar Pal Dipamkara, and the Tibetan translator, the monk Bari. The Well-Made Empowerment, Khavajra.
