Explanation of the Actual Ritual for the Three Samādhis. Explanation of the Actual Ritual for the Three Samādhis. Explanation of the First Samādhi, the Preliminary Practice of the First Yogi. In Sanskrit: Caturanga Sādhanam Ḍīkā Sāraman̄jara Nāma. In Tibetan: The Extensive Explanation of the Four-Limbed Practice, Called Essence Garland. Homage to the Bhagavan, the one who utterly subdues the power of demons! Possessing a profound and vast sacred nature, perfectly beautiful in every aspect, supreme bliss beyond conceptualization, homage to the supreme speech of Mañjughoṣa. Whatever is done with the feet of wisdom, I follow that instruction. Urged by the command of the feet of enumeration, I will perform this practice. Even if some have explained it, all of them do not follow that instruction, therefore I will strive greatly. Why? Because even if one meditates on it for hundreds of millions of kalpas, one will not attain accomplishment due to the faults of incompleteness and excess. Therefore, this teacher intends to perform the practice, so he engages in increasing merit by offering to the desired deity. Those who desire manifestation believe that there are no obstacles. Therefore, those who have offerings as a preliminary and those who have conceptualization are made to enter by speaking of what should be stated, etc. What is said is "Whoever has glory," and so on. Here, the offering to the Bhagavan is through praise and prostration. Praise is the expression of true qualities. Furthermore, it is done to Mañjuśrī himself through the distinction of rays of light, because it is related to them or because there is no difference from them. Glory is the accumulation of merit and wisdom; those who possess it are glorious. This speaks of the cause of the perfection of one's own benefit. The cause of the perfection of one's own benefit, which is the characteristic of omniscience, is merit and wisdom. Those who have abandoned all delusions of the nature of ignorance are called that. That itself is what is meant by "immaculate," which means purity, that is, being free from obscurations such as habitual tendencies and afflictions. This shows the omniscient one's

It also speaks of the perfection of one's own purpose, and also says that it is superior to the Shravakas and others. The emanations of the infinite and the like are generated in the continuum of the beings to be tamed. Those who possess such ornaments are called that. This speaks of the perfection of benefiting others, because its owner makes the appearance of that form appear perfectly to the beings to be tamed. Wisdom is the intelligence of the nature of selflessness. Its limb is the form of its own appearance. Its connection with method is the very oneness of taste, which means the mind of emptiness and compassion being inseparable. That which is adorned with it and possesses extreme clarity is adorned by being connected with the limb of wisdom. This speaks of the cause of the perfection of benefiting others, because the cause of the perfection of benefiting others is characterized by the close attainment of great attachment. It also says that it is superior to the root tantra and the first Buddha and others. Starting from "Homage," this speaks of the offering of extreme reverence with body and so on. Then, the rays of light that have such a form are the extremely wrathful Manjushri, starting from "Homage," in order to make offerings to him, the ritual will be explained, thus connecting them. In order to show that this ritual is excellent, what is said is "Glorious" and so on. Glory is the perfection of the mundane and the supramundane. Whoever possesses such a fruit is both glorious and assembled. Its rule is its key point. Similarly, speaking of one's own characteristics starts from "Excellent spiritual friend" and so on. The feet protected by the excellent spiritual friend. Therefore, in order to correctly understand the rule of assembly surrounded by five hundred teachers, the seeker of knowledge went to that place, and knowing that he was staying not too far away, in order to pay homage to his feet, when walking with the feet of wisdom, because he did not obtain the sign, he pondered on understanding the meaning of the assembly, and also knowing that he would come, the protected feet themselves went to that place, and in order to show the meaning of the assembly, he prayed to him.
