Chapter Eight: Explanation of the Vows Concerning Excrement and Urine. Chapter Eight: Explanation of the Vows Concerning Excrement and Urine. The three methods are practice. The elaborate offering ritual is also a vow, and that is the meaning of this chapter. To begin it, it is said, "From then on," and so forth. Of these, offering to the Buddha is the best of generosity, and that also comes from the Lord. The Lord is the Jewel of Auspiciousness. Vajradhara is the Holy Lord. Therefore, we pray to him here. Because he is the master of the body, speech, and mind of all the Tathagatas, he is the Holy Lord. Here, the first praise is the cause, but the second and third are not, because the result itself perfectly fulfills its own and others' benefit in different ways. The fourth is the nature of cause and result. The cause of the Buddha is the five aspects of Bodhicitta: the aspiration Bodhicitta, the engaging Bodhicitta, the transcendent, Samantabhadra, and the best of offerings. In "Vajrasattva," Vajra is Bodhi, because it is indivisible and is a jewel. Sattva is intention. "Mahayana" means entering greatly through the Paramitas and so on. "Perfectly purifying the conduct of space" means purifying the conduct of the mind, which is of one taste in Suchness, reaching the end of space. Because this possesses Samantabhadra, it is Samantabhadra, meaning that all of its body is the cause of the benefit of sentient beings. "The best of offerings" means that from this is the best of offerings to the Buddhas, therefore it is the best of offerings. Because it is the cause of the Victorious Ones, it is the best of Victors. "Explanation, speech, and teaching" means please explain. The perfection of one's own benefit is unsurpassed Bodhi, which is also non-abiding Nirvana.
