The Explanation of Chapter Eighteen, Moonlight. The Explanation of Chapter Eighteen Moonlight Whoever, through merit like mine, although supplicated in many ways, yet before the face of the meagerly endowed, though great compassion, was not crowned. Therefore, I, in the eighteenth chapter, make it pleasing and clearly understood. Having prostrated to those twin feet, I write a little for my own remembrance. Thus, having shown that all the tantras with instructions, the seventeen chapters, have become the place of the Sutra, now, to clarify that very thing, the profound speech, the elaboration and the unsaid, are made clear. The glorious Guhyasamaja's subsequent tantra, the eighteenth chapter, is taught, spoken by gathering together. Then, and so forth. Then, refers to after the empowerment of all the Tathagatas, the secret of body, speech, and mind has been shown. Again, it is an ornament of words. Maitreya and so forth, means the empowerment to the kingship of the Dharma, the topknot, the one who attains enlightenment in one lifetime, the great vehicle's Abhisamaya-alankara maker, the Bhagavan Maitreya. Whoever is the chief of the best, that is, the great Bodhisattvas who are said in the introductory chapter to eliminate all obstacles, and so forth, they are spoken of in the same way. The empowerment of all the Tathagatas is the nature of great bliss, the Bhagavan Bodhicitta Vajra, which has become the fruit. That itself is the nature of the Nirmanakaya, Sambhogakaya, and Dharmakaya. The secret of body, speech, and mind itself is the secret of body, speech, and mind, and its teaching is spoken. Or, what shows and realizes that is the root tantra, the nature of the seventeen chapters. By all things, it means by the nature or all aspects needed for Abhisamaya and the written mandala and the collection of activities and the showing, that is, illusion and so forth. As it is, means without inversion. The vow as it is, means not transgressing the customs of the retinue of the great Vajradhara spoken of in the introductory chapter. The seer is the Vajradhara who has become the fruit. The hearer is

Therefore, this is the nature of the path. Comprehension is manifestation. Or, seeing is the nature of the Nirmanakaya, the essence of the Body Vajra. Hearing is the nature of the Sambhogakaya, in the form of the Speech Vajra. Comprehension is the manifestation of the essence of the Dharmakaya, in the form of the Mind Vajra. Others, seeing is from those arising from reason and thought. Hearing is from that arising from hearing. Comprehension is from that arising from meditation. To these, the Tathagatas such as Akshobhya gathered in the cycle. Seeing is the dharmas by which those just spoken of see those dharmas, that is Dharma vision. After the continuum is completely perfected, the Body etc. abiding in the bodies etc. of the three realms, previously unseen, non-different, each self-aware, seeing as the essence of one's own characteristics, how is it samsara? Wonder arises, uttering special words such as "Alas." The certainty of Body, Speech, and Mind is that, as it is in its own nature, it is separated from its own characteristics, and is certain to be non-dual. The Three Vajras are the Body etc. Vajras, abiding in a non-material essence. Where? What is said is said to the Three Vajras, that is, the body, speech, and mind Vajras of the three realms, in all forms abiding in its own nature. Why is this? From which all sentient beings arise. In its own nature? In the essence of the Three Vajras. The Three Times are the essence of the Body etc. Vajras. Bodhi Vajra is Vajrasattva, that is, those who have attained its state. Therefore, Buddha Vajra is also great magic. It is said: In the nature of Dharma there is no difference whatsoever. And so on. Again, Buddha and non-Buddha are equal, there is no inequality, therefore it is four-sided. And so on. It is very wonderful because it has not been seen elsewhere. Transcending the senses because it is not an object of the senses. Utmost Nirvana because it does not abide in existence and peace. In this way, even if there is knowledge, the continuum of samsara will enter.

How wonderful! It is not wonderful because the nature of reality is inherently so. This method is extremely difficult to obtain. Attaining enlightenment has no other cause, because other methods have intervals. Therefore, it is said: The supreme of the supreme of all tantras. This refers to the most excellent among the Yoga and Anuttarayoga tantras. I pray to you. Why? Because it is said: To realize that which is hidden. Because of what is it profound? It is said: What is spoken, that which was previously truly spoken. Have you not understood it? It is said: Because of wanting to benefit sentient beings. Then, refers to after the prayer. Those, refers to the Immovable One and others. To those, refers to Maitreya and others. Well done, well done, etc., is joyfully teaching future abbots, and likewise, those who ask questions for the benefit of others should be encouraged with well done, etc. With respect for the Dharma, one should repeatedly prostrate and then ask. Secret, to whom is this done here? Etc., is a collection of questions, which is easy to understand. Teaching, explaining, separately explaining, questioning, and answering, etc., should all be treated with joy, as it is said. Abiding on the body vajra, etc., means having become one. The vajra of the great Vajradhara's body, etc., is visualized with each of their own body, etc., vajras, because of being non-dual, so one examines joy and doubt, and approaches the nature of reality, and then becomes silent. That which is initially known as the glorious Guhyasamaja is Samantabhadra, and that which has become its means is also the order of explaining the meaning of the name of the tantra that elucidates it, and the order of explanation is proclaimed. Body, speech, and mind are three aspects. It refers to being divided into three types by the distinction of body, speech, and mind. Secret is because it is not the domain of everyone. Assembly is gathering. What is the characteristic? It is the name of all Tathagatas, and one should take one's own benefit into one's hands. Thus
