Chapter Seven: Explanation of the Supreme Conduct of Mantras. Chapter Seven: Explanation of the Supreme Conduct of Mantras. Since contemplating that which possesses function will cause the fruition to be complete, therefore, from "Then" and so forth, the chapter on conduct is taught. It is also said: A person abiding in discipline should meditate on samadhi and wisdom. By properly guarding the vows, suffering will quickly be exhausted. Thus it is said. The Suchness of the Great Samaya is the Vajradhara who is the nature of the five families. The conduct of mantra here is the practice of vows and precepts that transcend all worldly customs. As it is said in the Eighteenth Chapter: Liberation from worldly conduct, what is taught is samaya and precepts. Because it is guarded by all vajras, it is called the practice of mantra. Thus it is said. Its supreme manifest enlightenment is the chapter that speaks of where the realization of true accomplishment exists. Regarding all enjoyment of desires, desire is the object of form and so on, which is called desire because it is desired. To closely enjoy them is a distinction of experience. What is to be shown is that the nature of form vajra and so on is to be experienced. How is desire? It is not going beyond desire. Similarly, it is also said: From the arising of the appearance vajra, yogis should always rely on the five samayas. Whatever samaya is not in accordance with the mind, that samaya should be completely abandoned. Thus it is said. Not desiring for oneself and being disgusted with the object of focus is being weary of the mind, and being weary of the mind is not the awareness of Suchness. As it is said in the Glorious Appearance Vajra: Its bliss is samadhi, from samadhi one knows according to reality. Thus it is said. Therefore, it will be explained here that if body, speech, and mind abide in bliss, all enlightenment will be attained. Now the ritual of closely enjoying desires is taught. Starting from "one's own deity," the yogi of one's own deity, the so-called "self" and "other," is the mandala. The yogi should not know other than his own deity and the wheel of the mandala. Or another's...

Therefore, one should visualize the objects of offering as the image of one's own deity and make offerings. From the opposite perspective, so-called asceticism refers to cutting one's own flesh, etc., or eating foods such as leaves, barley, barnyard millet, and fasting. So-called suffering refers to practicing with the five fires, etc. Even if one practices, one will not achieve accomplishment, because the cause of suffering itself is not a limb of samadhi. Regarding this, it is also said: Suffering distracts the mind, distraction turns accomplishment into something else. Eating begged food, do not repeat begging, do not be fond of begging. That is to say, a yogi should not be attached to begging from one person or begging from many people, but should eat whatever food is obtained in order to maintain the body, that is its meaning. The limbs of the mantra should be recited without diminishing. That is to say, from transforming one's own body into the body of the deity, from the limb of merging all things into non-duality, one should recite it as it is, one should regard oneself as the nature of all things, that is its meaning. Or, possessing the complete four-limbed yoga, without abandoning all the village customs, that is reciting the limbs without diminishing. So-called untimely death refers to completely taking other aggregates even without performing the actions of the ritual. One will surely be punished by hell. That is to say, desiring the fruit by non-means, that will not be obtained, if one slanders the Dharma, one will experience the suffering of going to Avici hell, etc. The supreme Dharma, the unmoving joy, refers to the Vajradhara, the nature of the three bodies. This can be seen from the words, "The three vajras are unchanging." Regarding this, it is also said: From the precept master, the unchanging joy, the Vajra holder, symbolizes the benefit of all beings. So-called supreme, is because it is the nature of constant bliss. If one offers to the Tathagata in the same way as relying on the yoga realm of one's own supreme deity, then what is reliance? Regarding this, it is said: Reliance, etc., because in what way does one approach the ritual of practice, for the object, the wisdom seeking desire, that is compassion.
