Chapter Two: Explaining the Mind of Enlightenment Chapter Two: Explaining the Mind of Enlightenment Those who possess realization enter because they seek the fruit. First, it is necessary to definitively show the Bhagavan, who has become the fruit endowed with all kinds of excellence. By eliminating the manifest clinging to that very body, etc., the chapter on the mind of enlightenment is spoken in order to clearly reveal the nature of wisdom. Then, and so on. "Then" refers to the aftermath of taming the beings to be tamed, etc. Because it is stable by the very nature of the element of Dharma, which has no beginning or end, it is the essence. Because it is the nature of the emanation body, etc., it is body, speech, and mind. Because it is the nature of the wisdom body, it is supreme, or because it has become the support of all beings. Is this not also the mother of the Bodhisattvas? No, it is not. It is said, "All the Tathagatas." Because it is not the domain of others, it is secret. What is this? It is the mind of enlightenment: "Indestructible, not thinking, not expressible, not conceptualizing. For the sake of the mind of virtuous Dharma, the mind of enlightenment is wisdom." It is also said: "Without beginning or end, peaceful, the lord of the exhaustion of existence and non-existence, emptiness and compassion inseparable, it is taught to be called the mind of enlightenment." Thus it is. Because it is the most excellent of all, it is unsurpassed. After all the Tathagatas have prayed, the phrase "knowing" is spoken, saying, "These have prayed to me for the sake of the Bodhisattvas, but not for their own sake." The Tathagatas have not seen, not heard, not completely known, and not manifested, which is the ultimate conclusion. "Completely understood by the mind" refers to the suchness of all Dharmas, which is free from objects, and "How does it become body, etc.?" refers to speaking with the mind. Because the nature of the mind is not clear, it is not ear consciousness, etc. "To them" refers to those for whose sake the Tathagatas have prayed. That which is to be generated...
