A Commentary on the Glorious Guhyasamaja Tantra. Thagana. A Commentary on the Glorious Guhyasamaja Tantra. Thagana. Chapter One: Commentary on Empowering the Mandala of Samadhi of All Tathagatas. In Sanskrit: Śrīguhyasamājatantravivaraṇaṃ. In Tibetan: A Commentary on the Glorious Guhyasamaja Tantra. Homage to youthful Manjushri! This is body, speech, and mind, Revealing the nature of wisdom and means. Its essence is without object, I pay homage to that Manjushri. Though intelligence is low, By mere faith, beings are urged on. Entering the noble path, They will enjoy the fruit of good fortune. For the sake of remembering the essence Of the oral instructions before those wisdom faces, Though foolish in intellect, the meaning of the Compendium, Here, I will write as much as I can. A few short words Of the difficult to understand and meaningful, From that distinction, The rest is easy to understand on its own. Whatever is added or subtracted, Whatever fault is seen here, Because the explanatory text is not understood, It is a fault of my own mind. Therefore, the wise should not Regard the lama as a fault, But by the fault of the student's inferior intelligence, Do not criticize the explanatory teacher of realization. The word "Thus," refers to the meaning of the tantra explained below, which remains completely in the mind, relying on abbreviation. The word "I," refers to the collector, the very nature of the complete and perfect enlightenment of Amitabha, not transmitted by one person and heard, and this statement is that I heard it directly, not made by myself, as determined. Because if you say unspeakable words, etc., it will be contrary to the words that appear below. The word "heard" refers to understanding the tantra of the nature of the sound appearing separately. Question: Since the complete and perfect Buddha is the very essence of Vajradhara, it contradicts the hearing of Vajra Dharma, etc. Answer: No. The Bhagavan, in order to subdue the realms and various intentions of sentient beings, although being one, acts in countless ways, such as being born, renouncing, and practicing austerities.

Such as acting, and manifestly attaining enlightenment, turning the wheel of Dharma, and so on. Thus it is said: "With various inclinations and different thoughts, Many distinctions arise due to the power of sentient beings. Even one alone in various water vessels, Is like the reflection of the moon appearing." Thus it is said. The term "at one time" means that it was heard only at one time. It is not so, but this is at one time, and elsewhere it is other, thus showing that it was heard many times, so it should be regarded as a supreme statement. The Vajra Dharma based on enlightenment regards the past and so on as the nature of the present, and understands everything correctly at once, so it is intended to be accomplished by hearing much. The term "Bhagavan" refers to the six qualities such as freedom, here it is said to be like a mirror and the share of the nature of equality and so on, and whoever possesses it is called by that name. Or it is said that Bhagavan is called because of destruction, because of destroying afflictive demons and so on. Also: "Afflictions depend on wisdom, Therefore wisdom is said to be destroyed." Because it is said that the wisdom nature of destroying the aggregates, the Lord of Death, the son of the gods, and the afflictive demons is called destruction, and whoever possesses it is Bhagavan, the Vajra of the mind of enlightenment. The term "Tathagata" and so on shows the distinction of the place that is in accordance with the teaching of the unsurpassed Dharma, and the body, speech, and mind of all the Tathagatas are not the object of others, so it is secret. That itself is Vajra, which is indivisible and harmless, and the nature of the true meaning is the essence, which is the non-dual nature of those. The so-called bha-ga etc. of the consort of such a nature refers to the wheel of the mandala that is pervasive, mobile and immobile, and is sure to appear and arise, so although it is unique, many words are used. The term "abiding" refers to all the behaviors of desire and so on by means of desire and so on, all of which are desire.
