General explanation. General explanation. Therefore, this Completion Stage is summarized in five meanings by the venerable Nagarjuna, and for that reason, one first prostrates to the desired deity. How prostrating to the manifestly desired deity is a preliminary practice of the noble ones. Such prostration is of three types: that which accords with reason, that which is in accordance, and that which accords with both. Of these, that which accords with reason is, for example, prostrating to the one who composes the treatise to the very deity one desires, such as prostrating to Manjushri Vajra by "Glorious One," etc., because that is the desired deity of the venerable Buddha Yeshe. That which is in accordance is, for example, at the beginning of the Pratimoksha vows, prostrating to the Bhagavan, the one free from desire, with "Abode of Glory," etc. That which accords with both is, for example, the author's deity is the same, and the treatise's is also the same, such as when the venerable Nagarjuna, in the Condensed Sadhana Collection, prostrates to the Bhagavan Glorious Vajrasattva with "Liberated from the conduct of the three realms," etc. Here also, it is the same, only according with both, because Vajrasattva is the desired deity, and the main deity of the treatise is also that very one. Similarly, other prostrations are only of four types: bodily, verbal, mental, and unsurpassed. Bodily prostration includes prostrating with the five limbs, etc. Verbal prostration is characterized by praise. Mental prostration is characterized by meditation, etc. Similarly, unsurpassed prostration is characterized by following its very nature, as it says: "Just as water into water, just as oil into oil, one's own wisdom into one's own, whatever is well seen, this is prostration." etc., will be explained. Furthermore, what is the need for performing prostration? The need is to pacify obstacles, and after prostrating, to praise the great being and obtain merit.

In order to dispel non-merit, in order to pacify the outer and inner obstacles arising from non-merit, because tranquility can perfect the treatises, therefore the pacification of obstacles is the fruit of prostration. Among them, the external obstacles are the obstacles that rely on sentient and non-sentient beings. The obstacles produced by the five great elements such as earth are the obstacles that depend on sentient beings. The obstacles caused by livestock, wild animals, birds, snakes, and teachings are the obstacles that depend on non-sentient beings. The internal obstacles are of three kinds: body, speech, and mind. Among them, the bodily obstacles are those caused by wind, bile, phlegm, and so on. The obstacles of speech are those caused by harsh words and so on. The obstacles of mind are those caused by desire and so on. All these obstacles are pacified by remembering the Bhagavan. Here, is there not confusion seen in the place of prostration? In the place of prostration, the pacification of obstacles is not seen, because in the explained tantra, when a commentary on the intention prophecy was partially done, the commentator died. In the place where prostration was not done, the pacification of obstacles was seen, such as the four lamps of the Black-faced One. If someone says this is true, then the author of the treatise begins by considering the fruit of the characteristic of fame, because there is only a reason related to that fruit, so only fame can pacify obstacles. In the place where prostration is not done, there are other auspicious words as a reason, for example, the word "thus said", which is a word connector with multiple meanings, so the word "thus said" has an auspicious meaning. Or, even if prostration is not done there through speech, it is done through body or mind, so everything is without fault. It is too much, enough is enough, the current situation should be examined. Protector, master of all sentient beings, I pay homage to the glorious Great Bliss! Following the teachings of the Yoga Tantra, I will explain the order of Vajra recitation. Protector, that is, the Bhagavan, the glorious Vajrasattva.
