It is through examining things like Mahamudra. Explanation of the Fourth Stage is complete. Fifth, Explanation of the Stage of Union. "The Protector is the nature of cause and effect." This refers to the Protector who abides in the nature of self-blessing and the nature of luminosity as one entity. "All things, including conceptualizations," refers to the inner consciousness conceptualizing external forms. "Discriminating without things" refers to realizing that inner bliss is empty of external things. In truth, since both of these are examined, the nature of both being of one taste is unconditioned and unexamined, which is ultimate. The object to be grasped is external forms, etc. The grasper is the consciousness of the eye, etc. What remains is emptiness other than just the five aggregates. What does not remain is all being emptiness, passing into nirvana. Similarly, the person is the five aggregates, etc. Selflessness is the very truth obtained through examination. "Remembrance and non-remembrance," etc., expresses the benefit of manifesting union. "Action and the agent," etc., again shows the equality of union. "The net of illusion," etc., each word shows union. "What sound is unborn, etc." In "this," etc., the words that show this union are unborn (Tibetan: སྐྱེ་བ་མེད་པ་,梵文天城体:अनुत्पाद,梵文罗马拟音:anutpāda,汉语字面意思:无生), unceasing (Tibetan: འགག་པ་མེད་པ་,梵文天城体:अनिरोध,梵文罗马拟音:anirodha,汉语字面意思:无灭), non-existent (Tibetan: ཡོད་པ་མ་ཡིན་པ་,梵文天城体:असत्,梵文罗马拟音:asat,汉语字面意思:非有), and non-non-existent (Tibetan: མེད་པ་མ་ཡིན་པ་,梵文天城体:न असत्,梵文罗马拟音:na asat,汉语字面意思:非无), etc. The word "etc." means that it only shows that, intending not to show anything else. "While learning," etc., speaks of the conduct of a yogi meditating on union. Hidden conduct refers to abiding in the nature of equality of all. Explanation of the condensed difficulties of the Fifth Stage is complete. The Difficult Explanation of the Fifth Stage composed by the great teacher Arya Nagarjuna. The work composed by the great teacher Bhavyakirti is complete. Revised and translated by the great Indian abbot Gyalwa Chok's presence and the Tibetan translator, the monk Shakya Tsondru.
