The rest is easy to understand. If all dharmas become virtuous, will they not fall into evil destinies? They will not fall, but how is that known? As stated in the Sutra of the Treasury of the Tathagata, etc., if there is no disbelief in all dharmas, and faith is manifested and particularly admired, this refers to all virtuous dharmas, and there is no disbelief in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, and there is no laziness, anger, etc. Then, the mind will also not fall into evil destinies, because the seeds of all evil destinies are completely abandoned. Why is the abandonment of seeds itself? Because it possesses virtuous dharmas. Thus, where there is virtue, there will be no arising of afflictions, and where there are no afflictions, there will be no evil destinies, just like light and darkness. Virtue can also eliminate afflictions, but why is that? Because afflictions have no aggregates. That which has no aggregates is the nature of not going. Then, how will the Dharmakaya itself be obtained? Complete pacification of all afflictions is separation from afflictions. Separation itself is the Dharmakaya. Then, how is it born in samsara? It is born from the aggregation of causes and conditions. This means that consciousness arises from the aggregation of causes and conditions, that is, name and form, etc., arise in order. Birth also ceases because it is momentary, because it does not abide in the moment. Therefore, afflictions are the nature of destruction, so this is the nature of destruction. If it is said that the previous teachers did not say this, it is not so, the venerable teacher Nagarjuna also said this. If it is said that Nagarjuna himself is not a valid means of knowledge, it is because the Tathagata prophesied in this way. Its meaning is easy to understand. Thus, what is the use of teaching this distinction of the limits of karma? It is to liberate beings who dwell in the ocean of suffering. Understanding through scripture and reasoning means not contradicting the tantras and sutras, as well as not contradicting direct perception, inference, fame, and one's own vows, and that is how it is made non-contradictory.

Who is the speaker? It is the one who possesses the nature of great compassion, the one who descended from Suchness through the power of compassion. What does he observe? He observes sentient beings falling into the ocean of suffering, driven and bewildered by the waves of suffering. Without protection or refuge, he observes those who have not seen a protector or savior. What does he do after observing? In the manner of conventional truth, that is, with an illusory body. Knowing by completely knowing the nature of afflictions, that is, completely knowing the aspects of desire and so on. This shows the abandonment of knowing the minds of others. What does he do after knowing? He makes the afflictions completely pure, that is, he bestows countless methods for eliminating afflictions. Does he abide in conventional truth itself? Having completely purified with ultimate truth, he enters into equanimity in the state of luminosity. The limit of karma is the limit of karma, that is, the result of karma. Distinguishing it is to make it clear. Where does doubt arise? Thinking that karma is not virtuous, that there is no virtue, where is virtue, from where does virtue arise, there is no result of virtue, it is not, how many results are there, contradicting the scriptures, sutras and instructions, reasoning, contradicting, doubting faults and so on, grasping this firmly, abiding at the limit, cutting it off with this, that is what it is called. Just as with virtuous karma, so it is with non-virtuous karma, from thinking that it is not non-virtuous karma, up to the point of increased faults, grasping it firmly in this way, and doubting that the nature of mind is without inherent existence, if there is no inherent existence, then from where do virtuous and non-virtuous karmas arise, if they arise, doubting that it is not pure and so on, all these doubts are completely cut off by this. The detailed explanation of the fifth chapter from the commentary on the Lamp for Compendium of Practice is completed. Chapter Five: Abridged Cutting of Doubts on Differentiating the Limits of Karma.
