Then, how does wisdom arise? Wisdom is momentary, not constant. Pervading the ten directions is pervading the ten directions. From where is this spoken? It is spoken from the intention. Not understanding this, one asks: How does wisdom arise momentarily? This means, why is wisdom not momentary? The answer is: In the space of a moment, it is easy to understand. What is the manifestation of space? And from where does it return? Space and so on are mentioned. In the sense of understanding, it is space. Manifestation is seeing. That which is not obscured by anything is called that. Then, what is similar to it? It is very clear wisdom, free from conceptual thought. It is not a firefly, this is returning, like a candle. And it is also added that it is not smoke. What is the moving appearance? The subtle element is wind, and it enters together with consciousness. The others are easy to understand. What is without courage? This is because one does not understand the self-nature of being without courage and asks. Ignorance, this is accepting, not understanding the aspect of anything, that is ignorance. Then, what will arise from that? All those will arise, meaning that from the wind, natures will arise. The others are easy to understand. It is said in the Sutra Requested by the King Non-Human, this is in order not to contradict the Sutra. The perfectly complete Buddha is Dipamkara Buddha and so on. Having the sight of unobstructed wisdom is having the manifest supreme wisdom. Why is that? This is because one has doubt about that and asks. As an answer, the past mind stream of all sentient beings is exhausted, which is being free from evil mind. The others are easy to understand. Who thoroughly knows the mind and mental factors, and non-associated formations and so on? The Tathagata knows, because he has the three kayas of omniscient. Because of knowing in this way, it is added that he has unobstructed wisdom. The so-called unobstructed wisdom is the mind of all sentient beings and that itself.

Just emptiness, absence of inherent existence, and Dharmakaya, etc., are known merely through a moment, an instant, a short while, and closing the eyes, etc. With this wisdom, it is a synonym for that reason. Abiding in the mind's samadhi is focusing on the mind itself. The one who prays is me. The prayer is the prayer itself. What is prayed for are the supreme fruit and common accomplishments. Abandoning it is because all of that is merely the appearance of the mind. So, what will focusing on the mind become? It is manifestly turning towards blessing oneself, or obtaining something like an illusion, or making it unmanifest, or wanting to meditate. "From the root tantra" means not an explanatory tantra, but one that must be ascertained. "By equipoise" means by entering into samadhi equally. "Discerning separately in one's own mind" means to be diligent in one's own mind, that is, to examine whether one's own mind is virtuous, non-virtuous, unspecified, samsara or nirvana, to be accepted or abandoned, to be kept neutral, whether it exists as a substance or does not exist as a substance. Thus, relying on the explanatory tantra means not contradicting the explanatory tantra. Following appearances is being overly attached to appearances. What will that become? It is not understanding one's own mind as it is, that is, not understanding the nature of the mind. "Speaking of karma" refers to those beings who say that karma and its results exist. Samsara arises from one's own thoughts from beginningless time, which means being obscured by the habitual tendencies accumulated from beginningless time. What will that become? Like a silkworm, bound by its own bonds, like a silkworm. Here, through one's own suffering, it is shown that it does not arise from others. Focusing on the mind is abandoning, which is easy to understand. These are detailed explanations about focusing on the mind. These are also spoken as the lunar instructions, directed towards individuals with the same nature. Relying on others, here one strives for conventional truth. In this meaning of "A Lamp for Integrating Practice", focusing on the mind.

The complete cutting off of doubts about discernment refers here to the nature, cause, action, and delusion of the mind, and so on. This is the explanation of the fourth chapter from the commentary on the Compendium of Conduct. Chapter Four: Cutting off Doubts about the Compendium of Mind's Complete Solitude.
