Explanation of the Second Chapter. Explanation of the Second Chapter. Why is it said that all phenomena are only mind? Therefore, it is shown to that. Prostration and reverence, prostration and reverence! This is the realization of appearance and the increase of appearance. Prostration, prostration, reverence! This is prostration with the mountain of three minds. How to praise and prostrate? How to praise? In the manner of realization. How to place water in water is an example. The appearance of placing butter in butter is also the same, which is an illustration. One's own wisdom by oneself. Seeing well means one's own wisdom is one's own wisdom. Seeing oneself is seeing oneself, like one's own wisdom looking at one's own wisdom, it is understood, which shows the self-awareness of mind and mental events. Here, prostration means that the very thing seen is what is being prostrated to here. However, without attaining omniscience. This means until the meaning of omniscience is not attained. What will happen? That awareness will not become an object of close focus, that is, it will not become realization or comprehension. Darkness is darkness, and being covered by dimness is a state where the object is not clear. This is an example. What will happen by its grace? Appearance will be attained, and this appearance has become an object. Obtaining power over it is obtaining appearance. Emptiness is the wisdom of appearance. Very emptiness is the wisdom of the increase of appearance. Why is that? Because it is free from the nature and aspects of those things. The fourth, all emptiness, is the wisdom of clear light. The distinction between cause and effect. This means that when appearance becomes the cause, the increase of appearance is the effect because it arises from it. Similarly, it should be understood in others as well. To show the meaning of that, wisdom and so on are also taught. In that, wisdom is appearance, because it is a dharma that distinguishes and responds. Means is the wisdom of increase, because it is skillful in reversing the conceptualization of the appearance of objects. Perfection is perfection, that is, the wisdom of obtaining appearance. Why is that? Because it is very close to the Great Perfection, perfection is obtaining appearance.

If wisdom arises, what will it become? All is empty, and luminosity is attained. Thus it is written. All is empty because the attainment of appearances, etc., is naturally pure. The rest is easy to understand. To show its varieties, appearance, emptiness, etc., are mentioned, and appearance and emptiness are easy to understand. That is the mind, because it accumulates. Because it arises from causes and conditions, it is other-powered. Or, contemplating the bodhicitta bindu in the heart, because it becomes an object, it is appearance. Focusing on that, being separated from its nature, is the increase of appearance. Because of that separation, it is wisdom. Therefore, knowledge is its own nature, and because of accumulating good habits and various bodies, it is the mind. The wisdom of appearance arises from causes and conditions, so it is other-powered. What will it become? It will become separated from its nature. What will the nature be separated from? To show this, detachment, etc., are mentioned. Among them, detachment is the absence of attachment. The middle is neither detached nor greatly attached. Great is great attachment, especially attached to all objects. Going and coming in the mind is wanting to go and come. The so-called three sufferings are great suffering, etc. Peace is peace, it is certain. Discrimination is discriminating the grasped and the grasper. Or, whatever discrimination is towards external objects, that is what it is called. The three fears are easy to understand. Craving is craving, it is thirst. Appropriation is taking karma and its result. Non-virtue is not virtue. Hunger is wanting food. Thirst is wanting water. Feeling is experience. There are three, feeling is just experience. Intermediate feeling is intermediate experience, experiencing a little. Extreme feeling is great feeling. An instant is an instant. A knower is thinking that one knows. Individual knowing is individual separation. Knowing shame is respecting those in high positions, taking oneself or the Dharma as important. Compassion is compassion. Loving-kindness is loving-kindness. Doubt is doubt, it is an unsuccessful thought. Jealousy is
