Commentary on Self-Blessing. Commentary on Self-Blessing. Since the nature of self-blessing is to obtain the ability to meditate on the conventional truth, it is explained for the purpose of necessarily combining it with the naturally luminous ultimate nature of that very thing. "Everything," and so on. It is the realization of the clear light of manifest enlightenment. That which is not the object of the Guru's words, but which each individual must realize for themselves, the thusness, is self-arisen. The supreme deity is the nature of the aggregates of consciousness, etc., the chief of the immovable ones, etc. The ritual of entering into equipoise is embracing, etc. Appearance is the nature of experiencing the four emptinesses, and joy, etc. Since Bodhicitta is nectar, its vessel, the kalasha, is a vajra jewel. Having placed it very firmly on the top, the secret empowerment should be performed. If the person is of small intelligence, then as stated in the Compendium of Conduct: "In a vase or a white conch shell, place the Bodhicitta. To that, give the samaya, perfectly endowed with the innate mudra." Here, the innate mudra is what the student has offered before, having faith in the manifest Vajrasattva. The imputations of the three realms, etc., are without distinction, and therefore are not defiled by desires. Being equal to space is without elaboration, and therefore nothing is perceived. Non-reliance is because there is no support or supported, etc., and because there is no self-nature. Unthought-of conceptualization is aspiration; in the state of its fruition, all the meanings of aspiration are perfectly fulfilled only from the unthought-of. In the manner of inconceivable samadhi, it is its mind. Defilement is habit. Enlightenment is the great bliss that manifestly arises by the power of wisdom, in the order of appearances, etc. Together with the habits of karma and birth. Abandoning the three appearances is because of the purity of self-nature, and because in the state of transcendental conceptualization, adventitious stains are purified. Vajra wisdom is the Great Vehicle. Great wisdom is union. How so? Because all Buddhas arise from habituation.

Because it abides in that, in a manner of being one with it. Therefore it is said, 'The abode of all Tathagatas.' Thus it is. Without beginning or end, because there is no birth or destruction. Peaceful because there is no obscuration of knowledge. The sequence is appearance and so on. Commenced for the sake of being stable. Like the night part accompanied by moonlight, generating joy and indistinct is because of appearance, the night part is joy, which is appearance. Like the daytime accompanied by sunlight, the daytime appearing clearly, which is supreme joy, appearance increasing. The night, like being extremely red, in a manner of day and night being of one taste, the boundary of extremely pleasing appearance, which is obtaining the appearance of joylessness. The subtle discriminations of change and so on, the nature of discrimination that is distinguished by bliss, are to be combined with the three appearances in sequence. The third total thought, with the joy that accompanies the three appearances of one taste with the appearance of emptiness great bliss, is the moment of enlightenment, which is luminosity. Therefore, the ultimate luminosity, the enlightenment of all phenomena being without self-nature, is the distinct and superior understanding experienced by the co-emergent bliss of the conventional, because it is one with it and luminous, it is because of transformation. Some consider the difference to be different entities, therefore it is merely establishing different meanings. For example, co-emergent bliss is the exhalation of the Tathagata, and that without self-nature is said to be the exhalation of Vajradhara. Some want to say that it is not different, therefore it is established as not different, for example, the fruit causes the cause to increase, the cause causes the fruit to increase, cultivate. What is taught is what is spoken in conventional terms. In the ultimate sense, it is not the object of discrimination and speech. In the general meaning of that itself, it is said, the yogi himself should know that object. In order to symbolize the great bliss enlightenment that is beyond the world, luminosity and of one taste, it is said to those who cannot determine what is the metaphor, speech and so on. Immaculate is the impurity of all imputations on existence and non-existence and so on.
