Extensive explanation. Extensive explanation. Explanation of the root meaning. Revealing the ultimate Bodhicitta. Now, let's delve into the words of the root commentary. First, refuting the Tirthikas, it is said to be separated from all entities. Here, all entities refer to both external and internal. Among them, sixteen internal entities are explained: Self, sentient beings, life, birth, nurturing, man, person, strength-born, strength-child, agent, instigator, experiencer, knowing, seeing, instigating, and motivating factors. External entities include objects like pots and endless substances like blue lotuses. Because of their existence, they perform functions. The term "all" should be understood as the countless nature of the twelve ayatanas, not something countable. Since all those entities are identical to it, they are called "all entities." Similarly, the term "all Brahmins" refers only to the twelve ayatanas. Because they do not exist in its dependency, they are separate; if entities are not examined, one easily delights in a single state. Refuting the Vaibhashikas and Sautrantikas, which are called skandhas, etc. Among them, skandha refers to form, etc., because it is an aggregate. That is, the good and bad forms of the three times, and all sizes are gathered together. Similarly, the experiences of feeling pleasure, etc., and colors such as this is white, shapes such as long, and distinctions such as good are apprehended as characteristics. Mental events of the three times, non-associated compositional factors, consciousness that knows the different objects of the three times, and the consciousness of the seven aggregates of consciousness, which are the five skandhas. Dhatu refers to the eighteen dhatus such as the eye, because they hold the common and individual characteristics, hold the meaning of lineage, and are the seed of existence. Ayatana refers to the twelve ayatanas such as the eye, because they generate and increase consciousness. The grasped and the grasper refer to the six external ayatanas such as form and the six internal ayatanas such as the eye. Cittamātrins consider them to be names that are thoroughly conceptualized; the senses grasp the objects.
