Entering the Practice of Accomplishment Jnana Vajra Entering the Practice of Accomplishment Jnana Vajra Chapter One: Showing the Conduct of the Lama and the Disciple In Sanskrit: Skaharacarya Avatara. In Tibetan: Entering the Practice of Accomplishment. Homage to glorious Vajrasattva! Whoever, with the sharp sword of wisdom, Completely severs the appearance of seeing things as real, Destroys the black army that has become the enemy of time, Attains nirvana, I pay homage to him! Beings are all under his control, In order to completely destroy the power of the four maras, From the realization of the sutras and tantras, The essential instructions are summarized and taught by Jnana Vajra. Like a blind person walking on a dangerous path, Or like wanting to cross a river in a rudderless boat, If relying on what is without refuge and evil, Then the maras will always find an opportunity. Entering this conduct, immediately, Because of being unaccustomed and accustomed, Like having fruit without attainment, One will manifestly turn towards the black side. Because of seeing the enemy as the root, desire and aversion arise towards the object, Especially because of the possibility of complete destruction, Falling into both extremes, in the city of evil, Powerlessly driven by the enemy of clouds. Because of having no interest, the boundary of activity increases, Because of being too hasty, there is complete reversal, Therefore, it is said that both of these extremes should be completely abandoned, The Buddha, born from the lineage of the sun, briefly said so. One's own mind has existed since beginningless time, Because of wrongly clinging, it is accompanied by conceptual thought, Therefore, it is said that conceptual thought is here, The lord Vajradhara spoke thus. A person who wishes to attain the true path, begins on his own path, Asks the master: How many activities of the maras are there? I wish to hear, please kindly explain. He replied: The mara of the gods, the mara of death, the mara of the aggregates, And the mara of afflictions, therefore there are four types of maras. Because they reside in the hearts of all beings, Therefore, one must conquer them as the Buddha said. Just as someone who has mastered medicine, Enters the practice of the four branches, In order to definitely be liberated from the diseases of the four maras. One should know the four branches of medicine. The four branches of medicine, is it possible to accomplish them with one method?

Given. Therefore, rely properly on a virtuous spiritual friend who possesses qualities. Meaning is accomplished in one way. I have not seen such a rare thing. How should one attend to and honor the main guru? Please tell me the reason for this. Given the instruction: Completely abandon all jumping thoughts, and offer to the true guru. By pleasing him, one will obtain the supreme wisdom of omniscience. The teacher who acts as the unsurpassed is Vajrasattva himself, and should be offered to. Has he not done meritorious deeds? Has he not relied on asceticism? Whatever unbearable desire there is, whatever makes him extremely happy, whatever is extremely special, give that to the guru. The teacher steals away sins, the teacher removes fears, the teacher saves beings from the ocean of suffering to the other shore. Thus it was said. Again, it was given as instruction: Even in immeasurable kalpas, even with the perfection of listening, without the guru's instruction, illusion cannot be manifested. Therefore, those who desire the fruit of Buddhahood should completely abandon pride, ride the Vajrayana, and strive to please the guru. Thus it was said. Again, it was given as instruction: The guru is the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha is also the same. Because of his kindness, one knows, therefore he is superior to the Three Jewels. For those who are blinded by the darkness of ignorance, he is the best guide. He is the source of all happiness and bestows all desires. He is the abode of certainty in the profound Dharma, the nature of compassion, free from sin. He seeks the benefit of the Three Jewels, and there is no attachment in giving the Dharma. He is the unsurpassed one who gathers disciples, and is called the Buddhas who accomplish everything. The protector of beings said this, declaring that others are not gurus. Therefore, there is no object of offering equal to him, the unsurpassed guru. Therefore, with all effort, the ascetic should offer to the guru. There is no one equal to him in the world of beings, in the three realms. Vajra mind itself is in the world, having entered for the sake of all perfections. The disciple who desires supreme perfection, and who desires undefiled merit, in order to avert all demons and obstacles, should please the guru in various ways. With all vows, it is the unsurpassed vow.
