Now, the illusory Samadhi will be explained. In that, regarding the phrase "the union of mind and focus is as before," its essence and so on are as previously stated. A detailed explanation follows: "Focusing on illusion is the essence," meaning what is the essence of the illusory Samadhi? Because "it is shown closely with the metaphor of illusion, hence it is said to be the illusory body," because it is like an illusion, it is approximated by the twelve metaphors of illusion, therefore it is the illusory body. How many differences are there? "Which is gradual or sudden, or more or less?" Just like the generation stage, as mentioned before. "Conventional truth and illusion, as well as the mind-made body, are different names," illusory, conventional truth, and the mind-made body are different names. "Does it possess the Dharma characteristics?" That is, "body and illusion-like mind-made body, these are the objects of Samadhi," who possesses these Dharma characteristics? Whoever possesses these Dharma characteristics is called illusory. This also excludes others. "What is the cause?" That is, "this arises from attainment, this is the cause," from the wisdom of attaining appearance, this is the cause of illusion. "When to practice?" That is, "when the object of mind reaches the ultimate, also abide in illusion," when to practice the arising illusion? It is when the mind is focused. "What is the ability?" That is, "this can obtain two bodies," by practicing illusion, one can obtain the complete enjoyment body and the emanation body. Furthermore, there is an explanation: "Whoever, with all things, makes a close appearance with the metaphor of illusion, after that, the appearance of it, not seeing others reaches the ultimate, the union of body, speech, and mind, this union can be achieved," this is the intermediate verse. Next, luminosity will be explained, first explaining its essence. "Whatever is free from conceptual thought, that is the essence of luminosity," meaning to be free from the conceptual thought of grasper and grasped, that is the essence of luminosity. Why is it called luminosity? "Self-nature luminosity dispels distinctions, hence the name luminosity is spoken," because it is self-nature luminosity, and it can dispel all conceptual thoughts, therefore it is called luminosity. How many differences are there?

Ema! Awareness and what is known, luminosity is spoken of here. Thus, luminosity of what is known is the dharmadhatu, luminosity of awareness is wisdom. It also has two: self-existing luminosity and adventitious, the two which are free from defilements have been spoken of. Explanation of the names: luminosity, free from concepts, uncompounded, should be known as names, which is easy to understand. Again, it is said: Through learning and non-learning, luminosity should be known as two. Grasping as a whole and following after, it is said to be the luminosity of learning. Non-learning is free from concepts, without object, completely pure, primordially pure, countless names, spoken by the Victorious One and his sons. These are intermediate verses. Furthermore: The cause is wisdom and samadhi, relying on conventional truth and changing, this is said to be time. When everything is without self-nature, it is said to be the ultimate measure. This very joyful ground, is truly abiding in reality. Abandoning its concepts, it turns towards the higher. By whom, for the one without characteristics, the person who is extremely devoted, arises truly through the union of one. When the hero is under the Bodhi tree, abiding in equanimity, the prophecy of luminosity is the beginning of the words. Therefore, luminosity should be manifested. These are intermediate verses. Thus, after the luminosity has been extensively shown, now the union will be shown, what is the nature of that union? Whatever is non-dual wisdom, is the nature of union. Thus, whatever wisdom is free from all aspects of concepts, that is the nature of union. Why is this called union? Because it is non-dual, because it does not abide, because it is free from duality, because it focuses on duality, it is said to be union. Thus, because it is non-dual, because it does not abide in duality, because it is free from duality, because it focuses on duality at the same time, it is union. How many divisions does this have? Through learning and non-learning, union should be known as two. Thus, whoever is a learner, that is the union of learning. The fruit of learning is completely perfected, this is the union of non-learning. What are the names?

It is said "Na". Non-learning and ultimate completion, are different names for union and non-duality. This is in terms of non-learning. If asked, what qualities does it possess? It focuses on samadhi and the two aspects, it focuses momentarily and is without obstruction. Possessing these four aspects is union. Eliminating the faults of other schools: This is accomplished by this, not by other methods. This is the elimination of others. So, what is the cause of what is called union? Luminosity and the two aspects, are the cause of union in learning. Luminosity, as well as wisdom and samadhi, are the cause of union in learning. So, what is the cause of union in non-learning? Bodhicitta and compassion, as well as aspiration are its cause. The intention to benefit sentient beings, as well as compassion and the aspiration focused on the benefit of sentient beings, this is in terms of non-learning. Why is this a cause? If something exists, then something arises, that is its cause. When does the time arise? Luminosity is ultimate completion, at that time one should cultivate union. When luminosity is ultimately complete, at that time one should cultivate union, this is the intention. What is the preliminary practice? The four stages precede, one should abide in this. This is easy to understand. 1. Explanation of the Actual Path.
