Why is that? Because death and birth are bearable without characteristics. Why is that? Because death and birth are of the nature of illusion. Son of lineage, like that, a Bodhisattva who has obtained forbearance of the unborn dharma is without contradiction, and is without contradiction to all dharmas. Like that, a great yogi who abides in the samadhi of speech vajra, after hearing the words that speak of the faults and virtues of the realms of sentient beings, whether complete or incomplete, should not be attached to them, should not truly rejoice, should not be afraid, should not be universally afraid, and should not slander. After hearing the distinctions of the sounds of worldly and transworldly treatises, continuous and solitary, etc., which are established in various ways, one should not be attached, should not despise, and should not be ignorant, because one will realize the conduct of all sentient beings, and because it is the suchness of sound. As it is said, in the sutra "Showing the Entering of All Dharmas" by the Bhagavan: "Son of the gods, those Bodhisattvas who have entered by entering into sound, even if they speak untrue and disrespectful words for as many kalpas as there are sands in the Ganges, and even if they are completely spoken, they will not become angry because of that. If they are revered as many times as there are sands in the Ganges, and are regarded as teachers, and are offered and remembered with all the means of happiness and Dharma robes, and alms and bedding, and medicine for sickness and implements, they will not generate a mind of attachment to it." Similarly, the mantra practitioner who abides in the samadhi of speech vajra, the eighth empowerment, is neither bound by gain and no gain, fame and no fame, praise and blame, happiness and suffering, nor will he truly rejoice. Therefore, in order to overwhelm all worldly dharmas, one who desires to seek a mind that is completely isolated from the samadhi of the generation stage should revere a spiritual friend. The summary of speech completely isolated, cutting off doubts, is the third chapter. The third chapter: The summary of speech completely isolated.
