Chapter Seventeen: Extensive Explanation of the King of Blessings of the Vajra of the Vows and Samayas of All Tathagatas. Chapter Seventeen: Extensive Explanation of the King of Blessings of the Vajra of the Vows and Samayas of All Tathagatas. Beginning with "Having Comprehended the Two Stages," the explanation of Chapter Seventeen will be undertaken. "Having Comprehended the Two Stages" refers to the manifestation of the two stages of Chapter Sixteen. Worldly refers to the characteristic of turning away from the ten non-virtuous actions. Transcendent of the world refers to the conduct of the vows of the five Tathagatas, the five amṛtas, the five hooks, etc., distinguished by the divisions of what should be protected and what should be consumed in terms of vows and samayas. "If not practiced" means not protecting and abandoning all of these. Accomplishment refers to the characteristic of the Great Seal. Becoming distant means not becoming accomplished. This is Chapter Seventeen, shown by the compiler to demonstrate vows and samayas. "Supplication by all the Tathagatas" refers to the praise of the great Vajradhara by the five Buddhas, such as Akshobhya. "Akshobhya," etc., shows praise through the door of the Vajra Heart, the collection of all afflictions refers to detachment, etc. Now, the collection of these refers to entering through the divisions of day and night and one hundred and sixty. "Immovable" means abandoning these through the sequence of mantras and mudras. Becoming thus means possessing the Vajra Heart. Similarly, emptiness is fourfold, existing through the distinction of cause and effect, and the Bhagavan is also the possessor of that nature, because it is pervasive. Because ultimate truth is the same as the universally afflicted and completely purified conceptualizations. Therefore, it is impossible to be stained by the habits of what should be abandoned and discarded, because it is always pure, and because sudden defilements are completely cleared away. Akshobhya, etc., refers to the five Tathagatas. "Because it holds it" means generating or delighting in these, i.e., Vajradhara.
