First, explaining the four topics of the tantra. First, explaining the four topics of the tantra. ༄། །In Sanskrit: Śrīmahākālatantrarudrakavamahāśmaśānanāmaṭīkā. In Tibetan: The commentary called "The Fierce Examination of the Glorious Great Black One Tantra, the Great Cemetery." Homage to the glorious Vajra Ḍākinī! The embodiment of Suchness, holding all perfections, A face of eight liberations, sixteen empty hands, Subduer of demons, mighty lord, four feet adorned with the four abodes of Brahmā, Savior of beings, mandala, chief of eight goddesses. Tamer of fierce yakshas, embodiment of great terror, Adorning the crown of the head with branches of hands, homage to you, Black One. In the future, especially during the time of destruction, Especially upholding the teachings of the Victorious Ones, Destroying the darkness of the suffering of samsara. The essence of Vajra Heart and other Herukas, Through the power of having received blessings, And through the power of the holy guru, I, even just a little, Through the teachings of the Vajra words, Will begin to compose its commentary. Things like "equal to the sky" are not taught here, but are taught at the appropriate time. Speaking in Vajra words: "Thus have I heard at one time," and so on. Therein, the excellent distinction is that by the connection of hearing, the distinction is completely transformed, so the five are said to be meaningful. Moreover, the teacher is Vajradhara, an emanation of the Great Terrifier. ༄། །Thus, it is taught. Moreover, in the place of the self-existing emanation, he dwells in a place called the Great Cemetery. The phrase "at that time" means that the wrathful ones are said to be completely gathered. The Bhagavan completely revealed the Dharma through the blessings of the samadhi called "Two Like Sparks of Fire." That is, after eliminating the harm of the yakshas, the collector completely collected the Vajra words, which is the determination of the time. Like that, by the power of the meaning of the five gatherings, the phrase "Thus I have heard" is held without error by the power of the Vajra connection. That is, it is spoken to the retinue. The phrase "I" means that the collector is qualified. The phrase "by" means that he completely collected and spoke. The phrase "heard"

Hearing is the unerring collection of the power of connection from the words of the teacher. Time refers to the time when the wheel of vajra words arises. The term "at one time" indicates that it is shown in a unique way. Furthermore, the phrase "Thus I have heard, at one time" is related to how the four syllables of E-vaṃ-mā-yā are perfectly accomplished, and how the Bhagavan abides. The meaning is as follows: The Bhagavan abides in the nature and essence of E-vaṃ-mā-yā. So, what is the inherent nature of each of the syllables of E-vaṃ-mā-yā? "E (藏文:ཨེ,梵文天城体:ए,梵文罗马拟音:e,汉语字面意思:艾)" is the perfectly pure realm of earth and the nature of the body, the place of great loving-kindness, liberated from various forms. "Vaṃ (藏文:ཝཾ,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,汉语字面意思:旺)" is the perfectly pure realm of water and the nature of speech, holding the manner of subduing the wicked through compassion and aspiration. "Ma (藏文:མ,梵文天城体:म,梵文罗马拟音:ma,汉语字面意思:玛)" is the perfectly pure realm of fire and the nature of mind, joyfully bestowing power, and dharma arises from the samadhi that subdues the wicked. "Yā (藏文:ཡཱ,梵文天城体:या,梵文罗马拟音:yā,汉语字面意思:雅)" is the perfectly pure realm of wind and the nature of non-dual vajra, completely seizing the retinue through equanimity and the union of wisdom by the samadhi that destroys all demons. ༄། །Time is when the compiler has completely compiled and explained the Dharma. Alternatively, E (藏文:ཨེ,梵文天城体:ए,梵文罗马拟音:e,汉语字面意思:艾) is the place. Vaṃ (藏文:ཝཾ,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,汉语字面意思:旺) is the teacher. Ma (藏文:མ,梵文天城体:म,梵文罗马拟音:ma,汉语字面意思:玛) is the complete seizure of the retinue. Yā (藏文:ཡཱ,梵文天城体:या,梵文罗马拟音:yā,汉语字面意思:雅) is the collection through special Dharma. Furthermore, what is specifically shown is: E (藏文:ཨེ,梵文天城体:ए,梵文罗马拟音:e,汉语字面意思:艾) is the source of Dharma, the place and the basis. Vaṃ (藏文:ཝཾ,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,汉语字面意思:旺) is where the deity's body is perfected. Ma (藏文:མ,梵文天城体:म,梵文罗马拟音:ma,汉语字面意思:玛) is endowed with the approach of near accomplishment. Yā (藏文:ཡཱ,梵文天城体:या,梵文罗马拟音:yā,汉语字面意思:雅) is what perfectly accomplishes the activity. In such distinctions, the meaning of the introduction is briefly shown. The term Bhagavan refers to the teacher, glorious Vajradhara, and also through the combination of the word bhaga (藏文) there are two aspects: the meaning of the six qualities such as sovereignty, and the complete seizure of the retinue of beings such as the black, fierce, and great, and the subduing of the wicked. Body, speech, and mind vajra, refers to abiding through the distinctions of the earth realm and so on, and also body refers to the nature of the perfectly pure five aggregates and the place of the nature of the five families such as Vairochana. Their mind is the family.
