The First Definite Teaching. ༄། །In the language of India: Guṇāvatyaṃ Śrīmahāmāyāṭīkā. In Tibetan: The Great Glorious Illusory Commentary Possessing Qualities. Homage to the Three Jewels! Homage to the Glorious Vajrasattva! Homage to the Bhagavan, Lord of the World! Who, for the sake of the meaning of qualities, makes the forms of all the families, as well as the goddesses and the lord of the family, the marks of the body follow, that very one, for the sake of the peaceful Vajra-holder, should definitely be relied upon. Whoever has a great multitude of words, the glorious great illusory tantra, there are now only a few beings who know all the meanings of the sutras. Therefore, for those who are learned, clear, and pure, in order to obtain knowledge of the meaning of those words, I will make this commentary. Having looked at the desires of beings, the Sugatas have taught various paths to enlightenment. Since it is possible for many desirous ones to enter themselves, it is appropriate to do this well-spoken commentary possessing qualities. "Then," and so on. This tantra is not its own tantra. What is it then? It is another tantra and commentary. Therefore, the meaning of "then" is that this tantra is a sequel dependent on the previous tantra, which is made clear. For that very reason, at the beginning of this, words of introduction such as "Thus have I heard" were not added, because they were added to the previous one, just like the glorious Vajra Peak and other tantras. The word "then" is because those who are fond of brevity will quickly accomplish enlightenment through this. "Then it should be well explained," is connected with this. To explain by thoroughly distinguishing is "it should be well explained." Tantra means to be very extensive. The tantra of cause, the tantra of effect, and the tantra of means, these are the three types. Among them, the naturally luminous, beginningless and endless mind of enlightenment, that is the tantra, its essence is ༄། །What is its seed? It is the seed of enlightenment. Ya.

I attain pure and complete enlightenment. That itself is the unsurpassed fruit, therefore it is the fruit. That is also the mind that is naturally luminous, all temporary obscurations have been exhausted, it is the nature of complete purity, it is the Dharmakaya of the Buddhas. The infinite qualities gathered by the Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya, it is the basis of the Buddhas' Dharma, that is its meaning. That itself is the Bodhi Dharmakaya of the Buddhas, it is the state of the Great Vajradhara. The method to perfect that fruit from that cause is the means, that in the Paramita Mahayana, the path and its wheel that the Bodhisattvas practice in three countless eons. In the Secret Mantra Vehicle, the path of Bodhi is very vast, that itself is the nature of brevity, the method to achieve Bodhi very quickly and very happily, the path and its wheel such as the wheel of the mandala. Cause, fruit and means, those that are shown in the way of language are vast, that is, in order, the continuum of the cause, the continuum of the fruit and the continuum of the means. The meaning of Dakini is, that is the one who walks in the sky, by adding "E (ཨེ)" and combining with the meaning of the third "Dha (དྷ)", therefore "Dha (ཌྷ)" means to walk in the sky. Aka (ཨ་ཀ་) Aga (ཨ་ག་) is the one who walks changing. Here, walking everywhere is walking changing.
