Explanation of the Second Chapter of the Secret Mandala. Explanation of the Second Chapter of the Secret Mandala. Now, intending to explain the words of the master's teachings, the Bhagavan Vajrasattva himself, wishing to explain the meaning of the words, began the mental practice of the Second Chapter of the Secret Mandala with "In that, obtaining is difficult," and so on. Among them, "Mantras who practice for their own benefit, without that suchness, revolve in desire." This means that yogis who give alms and so on, aiming for their own benefit, and those who do not understand the meaning of non-duality, that is, those who do not understand suchness, even if they have realization, will still revolve in samsara due to desire. This is a summary statement. Then, Vajrapani asked about the doubts about the meaning of the Tathagata, "The pure body of wonders," and so on. Among them, "The pure body of wonders" refers to the manifestation of the five aggregates in the non-dual nature of emptiness, which is wondrous. Explaining this, it says, "These dharmas have all been shown." This means that from the non-dual emptiness, these five aggregates, twelve ayatanas, and eighteen dhatus have been taught. Again, he asked, what is the measure for such a body? "By what measure ༄༅། combination, etc." To this, he replied in a summary way, "Listen, how is the Vajra named?" etc. Among them, the meaning of the sentence "The measure of the body is the mind" is that the measure of the five aggregates of sentient beings in the three realms is the mind. To the question "By what is the measure known?" he replied, "With the nectar of my realm, the works of offering have been spoken." This means that the ritual of offering with nectar, which will be explained below, satisfies the deities of my body, and this is the measure of offering. To the question "Water and fire" etc., he replied, "Mandala, fire, and water etc." This means that the four great elements, such as water, become the measure of the body, and that is the mandala. This is about the measure of mantras and mudras. To the question "To this traveler" etc., he replied, "The yogi who obtains the fruit will fall into the ocean of existence." This means, relying on what

If one meditates, it becomes the fruit of a yogi's existence, which obstructs the path to Nirvana, thus revolving in existence, because one meditates in the manner of an object. As Nagarjuna also said in the Madhyamaka of Yoga Practice: 'Those who do not know emptiness, they do not have a share of liberation, in the cycle of existence, the six realms, the deluded ones revolve correctly.' Thus it is said. When the Bhagavan Vajrasattva showed the measure of mind on the body, Vajrapani asked again, having doubted the meaning. 'Vajrapani asked again,' and so on. Wishing to show the answer to the question in an extensive way, he said, 'Listen to the question of cyclic existence,' and so on. Among them, 'The nature of mind should be tamed' means that in cyclic existence, only the mind that has become the measure of the body can be tamed and attain Nirvana, and not otherwise. That mind alone, the three realms

Having subdued the mind, one should strive to accomplish the peace of the desired realm. Therefore, for the three realms, the mind is primary, so it is said that the mind is the measure of the teachings. As it is said in the sutras: 'O sons of the Buddhas, the three realms are only mind.' Now, wishing to briefly explain the method of subduing the mind, it is said: 'The object of liberation from that is.' etc. Among them, 'The object of liberation from that is' means to be liberated from the three realms and become the cause of peace. What is the cause? It is said: 'The yogi who accomplishes beings should know together with consciousness.' That is to say, the yogi who practices the path of peace should realize with skillful means and wisdom, and the wisdom of oneness with self-nature, and Vajrapani, who is the nature of consciousness alone. The meaning is the same, repeatedly asking: 'If there is doubt about the nature of the mind.' etc. In order to clarify the only answer, it is said: 'The mind is like a crystal.' etc. Among them, 'The mind is like a crystal' means that the mind is pure, like a crystal, because afflictions are temporary and the nature is clear and bright. Therefore, 'Faults and virtues, there are none in the mind.' Among them, faults refer to afflictions, and virtues refer to the two wisdoms of the path of their antidote. These two do not exist in ultimate truth. Such a mind, from the perspective of grasping and holding, will become other-powered and will become an afflicted being. To illustrate this point, it is said: 'By entering into the object, it is stained by the faults of samsara.' Among them, the object refers to the six senses such as the eye, the object refers to the six objects such as form, and entering refers to the six consciousnesses that enter. Because of these grasping and holding, the mind is stained by the faults of the afflictions of existence. Abandoning what has become the cause of existence, one should rely on what has become the cause of peace, so it is said: 'Having dwelt in the object, how to abide in what place?' That is to say, abandoning the inverted objects of existence, one should abide in the correct abode.
