It is only for the sake of being born in the Avīci hell. Therefore, it is said that it should not be done. Such as "Those who revile the Vajra Master," etc. Why should it not be reviled? It is said, "Mantras and mudras, etc., are accomplished through that path." This is to say that because through the instructions of the master, one can obtain the mudras and mantras, etc., that become the cause of enlightenment. Now, regarding the taking of disciples, first give the precepts and then take them. The so-called "mandala and other words indicate empowerment, and showing the torma and then taking the disciple," because one only wants to explain the difference of empowerment, it is said, "Previously, with one letter, it will be shown as the five Buddhas." This is to say that because the letter of the five Buddhas there is Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ，梵文天城体：हुं，梵文罗马拟音：hūṃ，汉语字面意思：吽), it is the Lord of the World. The meaning is, like this, first show the disciple the essence of one letter, Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ，梵文天城体：हुं，梵文罗马拟音：hūṃ，汉语字面意思：吽), and then give the empowerment. Those who have the mantra empowerment should meditate on the eight letters. The so-called "eight letters are: སུཾ་ཀྵུཾ་ཡུཾ་ཧཱུཾ། སྨྲྱུཾ་ཧྨྲྱུཾ་ཡྨྲྱུཾ་ཀྵྨྲྱུཾ་." The meaning is, like this, after writing the eight letters for the disciple, as soon as the mantra empowerment is given, one should meditate on and show the eight letters on the eight parts of the body, such as the crown of the head. Empowering the non-dual torma, one will also know the Dharma there. The meaning of "showing the disciple the Dharma of the nature of reality and non-reality, which are non-dual, is the empowerment of non-duality." One should give the empowerment of union, which is to show wisdom and consciousness. And so on.
