Chapter One: Illuminating Suchness. Chapter One: Illuminating Suchness. In Indian language: Khasamananamatika. In Tibetan: The Great Commentary Called Equal to Space. Homage to the Bhagavan Glorious Vajrasattva! With the three bodies equal to space, To the first supreme one, I pay homage. The meaning of that and the tantra equal to space, The great commentary equal to space, I shall compose. Here, the Bhagavan Vajradhara, Is the enlightenment of all Buddhas, And that is the nature of the completely transformed basis. The basis is the body. And that is of three kinds. Among them, the basis of the nature of the continuum of mind, As long as the seeds of all defiled dharmas, with their habitual tendencies, That which is called the basis of bad migrations is the alaya. Later, those who have meditated for a long time on the uncontrived noble path, the abiding of the alaya, And the consciousness that appears as body and enjoyment, that is completely exhausted, And also, all defiled dharmas that have arisen are extinguished, And the nature of those that have not arisen is that they do not arise, is the definite reversal. Like the completely pure space, uncontrived, ༄། །The nature of utter clarity, the certainty of infinity, That which is completely transformed is the completely transformed basis of the bad migrations of all Buddhas. And that is to be spoken of as the uncontaminated realm of those, Because it holds the seeds of the uncontaminated dharmas of the Buddhas. And that is the basis of the path of those, That which is completely transformed is the extreme reversal of the nature of the worldly, And the transcendental also enters extremely. The suchness of all dharmas is also the basis of those, That which is completely transformed is the extreme purification of all adventitious obscurations. Whatever is the basis of the bad migrations of the Buddhas, And the basis of the path, And the completely transformed basis of suchness. That itself is the enlightenment of those, That itself is the dharmakaya, It is called the basis of the body of the dharmas of the Buddhas, and it is also called the nature body, Because it abides in suchness, And in the nature of utter clarity.

That is, here, regarding the nature of the enlightenment of the Buddha, the nature of the Blessed One Vajradhara is equal to space. Nature, here, refers to the nature body. Therefore, being equal to space means being without appearance, infinite, extremely pure, extremely bright, and because it is the nature of suchness. The enjoyment body is not the same, because it has various forms, so it is not equal to space as it is. However, the Dharma body, which is equal to space as it appears, experiences the Dharma of suchness, which is equal to space, without obscuration. The enjoyment body is also the same, because completely enjoying the experience is the same as the cause. How is it completely cut off in that way? Because it cuts off the apprehended and the apprehender without appearance there. For example, just as children experience vases and so on, which is the same as the cause, it is certain ༄། །exists, and just as children experience the shape of the vase very clearly, it exists in the absence of speech and is completely cut off, due to the power of previously determined habits. Similarly, although the Buddhas are without speech, they completely cut off the enjoyment body itself without form. That complete cutting off should be proclaimed with the sound of extreme manifestation. Extreme manifestation is of two kinds, namely true realization and approximate representation. Beyond that, the enjoyment body is also equal to space, just like the appearance of the Buddha. The emanation body is also extremely equal to space, and in the form of illusion, it also completely cuts off the non-existence of its own emanated emanation body and so on. That is also Vajradhara who gives rise to all Buddhas. Those are also equal to space, because the cause is the same, this is the established tenet. Here, refuting the established tenet, Vajradhara is not the originator of the Buddhas. What is it then? It is the son of the Buddhas, because it has the crown of the five Buddhas. Because those and the wheel of goddesses are integrated into body, speech, and mind, it is elaboration, and this
