Commentary on Chapter One. Commentary on Chapter One. ། In Sanskrit: Śrīvajraḍākināmamahātanatrarājasya vibṛtti. In Tibetan: A commentary on the Great King of Tantras, called "Glorious Vajra Ḍākinī." Homage to the Bhagavan, the Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara! Like the moon rising from the sky, Dispelling ignorance, making light, Dripping the nectar of accomplishment, I bow to the body of Vajra Ḍākinī. From the nature of gold and jewels, Accomplished like Mount Sumeru, Arising from the limbs of this tantra, All are bodies of mere essence. The great meanings of this tantra, Whatever they are, with clear wisdom, Satisfying like lightning, moving the tongue, In an instant, they are clarified. Whatever it is, here I, As the lama has shown, As remembered in the mind, To clarify, I will speak. The great meanings hidden in the tantra, Obtained completely from the oral instructions, I cannot write. ། Yet, I will write a little. Here, those who speculate before seeing what is to be said, etc., will not engage anywhere. And those things will not appear unless they are first expressed in words. Those who seek methods of accomplishment for the sake of results should also accomplish them with the method that is in accordance with the result that the practitioner himself desires. Otherwise, if those are not the results that one desires, and cannot be practiced, for example, those who desire to be reborn in the higher realms, relying on the sacrifice of a white goat, is not the method desired by the compassionate Buddha. Even if rebirth in the higher realms can be attained through the sacrifice of a white goat, that is not the result desired by the compassionate one, etc. For those things, if the differences of what is to be said, etc., are not expressed in words, they will not be engaged. Therefore, in order to explain what is to be said, etc., through the expression of the perfection of the place, etc. From "Secret Supreme" to "The Supreme Bliss of Vajra Ḍākinī, united with all Ḍākinīs," is the middle.

Initially, these words were collected by Vajravarahi. That is, the Bhagavan alone, like a dancer, in order to subdue beings, acts as the speaker and the collector, as well as the mandala assembly called the retinue, and the mandala itself called the chief, and abides in the nature to be declared, such as accomplishments and methods of practice. Thus, although the Bhagavan abides as the speaker and so on, in order to introduce beginners, he shows himself as a different form of the Bhagavan Mother, and speaks of the secret supreme joy and so on. Having dwelt in the secret supreme joy, the words spoken by the Bhagavan are connected with what follows. The meanings to be declared, etc., shown earlier, are the Bhagavan himself who declared the order of the words, while the Bhagavan Mother Vajravarahi abandoned her own fabrication, and therefore it is thought that she heard from the Bhagavan and compiled the tantra. The word "secret" means the all-pervading Dharmadhatu, from which all Tathagatas are born, so the secret is the source of Dharma. To dwell there is to dwell on the top of Mount Sumeru in a multi-storied building. What is such a secret? It is the supreme spoken word, because it has become the realm of supreme wisdom. Joy means the realm that produces supreme bliss. All-nature means that it has become the nature of all Tathagatas, so all-nature is the secret. Or, because it has the nature of mirror-like wisdom and so on, it is all-nature. Or, the sound of "all" refers to Vajradhara, and whatever its nature is, that is what it is called. These indicate the perfection of the place.

These were spoken. The "multitude" of all the dakinis refers to goddesses such as the extremely wrathful one, and whatever nature those goddesses come from, that is the reality of all the dakinis. This indicates that the Bhagavan is surrounded by the retinue of all the dakinis. This shows the perfection of the retinue. The Bhagavan himself is a hero because he has the power to benefit sentient beings, and he is a vajra because he destroys the mountain of ignorance. Here, ignorance refers to the obscurations of knowledge, which are the objects of knowledge through the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, clinging to the apprehended, and so forth. Therefore, non-dual wisdom is the vajra, which is wisdom. The emanations called "dakinis" travel pervading all of space, so they are dakinis. The emanations are also the substance of the form of the dakinis. Thus, "Vajra Dakini" indicates that the Bhagavan has the nature of skillful means and wisdom. Since it is both vajra and dakini, "Vajra Dakini" refers to the nature of the mind of enlightenment, in which compassion and emptiness are inseparable. In order to show that the Bhagavan is the nature of bliss, "supreme" was spoken. Bliss is the great bliss without outflows, up to what is called "the supreme to be accomplished." Here, what the beings of the six realms should accomplish is bliss itself. For children, it is with outflows, and for noble ones, it is without outflows. Nevertheless, seeking various methods for the sake of bliss, there is nothing else to be accomplished other than bliss. No matter how many things are not bliss, they are all naturally pure, but children cling to what they see, so it is called with outflows. This very nature of bliss is called "this." That is, bliss is accomplished by bliss. Thus it was said. Accomplishing by bliss refers to the Vajra Holder. Bliss refers to the outflowless. Therefore, from "constantly abiding" to "supreme of bliss," this shows the distinction of the teacher and the perfection of the benefit of self and others. This.
