Chapter Two: Explanation of the Wheel Offering Ritual. Chapter Two: Explanation of the Wheel Offering Ritual. Thus, after explaining the Completion Stage, the wheel of the Generation Stage is taught, indicated by "Then, the cow dung has not fallen," and so on. Among these, Chapter Two explains the activities of the teacher, Chapter Three explains the activities of the disciple, and Chapter Four explains the invocation of the deity, thus becoming the Generation Stage. Initially, after performing the recitation of the Completion Stage with the three purifications, one draws the mandala, or relying on the recitation that will be explained later, the recitation of the Generation Stage is not taught. As it is said in the Root Tantra: "After performing the recitation with the three purifications, draw the mandala." Why is the ritual of the ground not taught? It is either relying on the explanatory tantra or it is intended that purification is not necessary. After the recitation and the ritual of the ground, intending to explain the characteristics of the mandala, it is said: "With the cow's dung not fallen, the mandala ground is well smeared." Smearing with the five products of the cow is common to the four classes of tantra. In particular, in the Yoga Mother Tantra, it is taught that after smearing with the ashes of the charnel ground and the five nectars, one constructs the mandala. What is the purpose of the ashes of the charnel ground and impure substances? It is to show that death and non-death, purity and impurity are equal. After explaining the characteristics of the mandala, intending to explain the characteristics of the colors, it is said: "In the charnel ground, one practices completely," and so on. Practicing completely means practicing equally, that is, there is no difference between jewels, paints, and the substances of the charnel ground. The ashes of burnt corpses refer to white bone ash and black charcoal ash. "One possessing charnel ground bricks" refers to yellow dyed with ochre and red dyed with paint. Green is a mixture of bone and green paint. One should draw an excellent mandala, which means it is excellent because it subdues with fierce and terrifying great anger. Because with diligence, dust, and darkness, it can transform the benefit of sentient beings, therefore this is excellent, it is following the conduct of enlightenment.

Thus, having explained the characteristics of colors, the characteristics of the teacher are shown next. As stated in the scripture, "The teacher possesses all characteristics, understands the truth and knows the tantras." Possessing all characteristics refers to the perfection of one's own and others' benefits. Understanding the truth refers to understanding the views of the four classes of tantras. Knowing the tantras refers to knowing the practices of the four classes of tantras. The characteristic of speech is the body, speech, and mind of glorious Heruka, as stated in the scripture, "Knowing the secret mantra." Mantra refers to the eleven mantras from the heart mantra to the damaging beauty. The characteristic of mind is: "Without anger, possessing compassion, pure and not stained by downfalls, the wise one knows these ten dharmas, knowing union and calm abiding, knowing wisdom, insight, and going to the other shore," which refers to possessing the three signs of the generation stage and the five signs of the completion stage. The characteristic of the body is adorned with five skulls on the head, smeared with ashes, possessing six-six seals, adorned with armor letters, decorated with hooking and increasing, the bone rosary is the thread of Brahma, the crown jewel made from a single bone, the necklace of bone rosary, and the left hand holding a khatvanga. These sixteen characteristics of the teacher are used to approximate the symbolism. Having thus explained the characteristics of the teacher, the method of accomplishing the mandala is shown next. The scripture mentions phrases such as "Oneself is glorious Heruka." First, wanting to explain the recitation of the generation stage, which is the wheel of meditation, after visualizing oneself as glorious Heruka, the scripture then says, "One should remember glorious Heruka." So, how should one visualize as Heruka? As stated in the fifty-first chapter, generated in fourteen ways, or "Dwelling and rising, entering and perfecting, blessing and empowerment, samadhi offering, and near gathering." As it is said, after generating the deity, then contemplate and remember glorious Heruka, through contemplation, gather the faults into the heart wheel in four periods, and rise up protected by the mantra of In this way, through the recitation of name, number, and time, the ritual of the ground is completed.
